    They are both incredible.

This is an event that fans actually want and are excited about.

Everything else has just been build up compared to this kind of stuff.

I must say that these teasers speak just how epic this event may be.

    Finally, Aquaman is back.

Except that he's a freakish Black Lantern zombie ...

Hahahaha at least he looks cool!

So Black Lanterns want to what, devour the living? I hope Aquaman devours Sword of Atlantis Aquaman and it goes all Matter/Anti-Matter Annihilation and good old living, non-lame Aquaman is back.

Take the images into Photoshop and invert them for black line art. Scary.

Blackest Night just looks hot, hot, hot. An event done right, FINALLY!

I mean Batman RIP was pointless, and Final Crisis appears to have had no impact whatsoever on the DCU.

I'm reserving judgment on "Blackest Night" until the story actually has unfolded; however, I am not enjoying this plethora of Lantern Corps'. The Sinestro Corps was a great concept that was well-executed and fits nicely into the GL universe. The Purple Lanterns, Blue Lanterns, Orange Lanterns, Red Lanterns...they're all just New Coke.

On the matter of the exhumation of Aquaman and Earth-2 Superman as zombie Lanterns...shameful. As the first superhero, Kal-L deserves a dignified rest. If they want to bring Aquaman back, there are ways that are more respectful of the character (P.S. does this mean he is actually dead? His demise in "Sword of Atlantis" was unconvincing, and he was seen alive and well in Morrison's recent Crisis travesty).

This just smacks of crass marketing taking primacy over the respectful treatment of bedrock DCU characters. Under Didio, death means nothing in the DCU except an opportunity to stage a sales event. The deaths of Jason Todd and Barry Allen caused significant resonance in the DCU and neither character serves any particular need in their resurrected form - except the need for sensationalized sales gimmicks.

Granted that it's definitely, DEFINITELY not letting these "fallen heroes" rest in peace ... but I think this is a cooler way to depict zombie super-heroes than say, Marvel Zombies. As for Aquaman ... the circumstances of his death are still just as ridiculously hazy ...

I mean, people weren't even certain the Dweller WAS Arthur, and then in his glass casket he reverted back to "water-hand" magical blue Lady of the Lake water ... that's hardly proof positive he's dead, however in a similar case with Batman (more a magic loophole than a sci-fi one), there could still be a "corpse" out there somewhere that could be reanimated. Whether it's the magical watery contents of the Dweller's casket ... the "new" Aquaman himself, since he's even referred to himself as a soulless zombie of the old Aquaman ... or an unknown corpse that was split from the Dweller during that brief, unsatisfying, poorly showcased and undeserved panel from WWIII.

But echoing my sentiments of late ... I could care less as long as I get my damn Aquaman back! (Superman-2 ... is just an example of the Black Power being the ultimate perversion of good).

Here's a question though, just to get back into the realm of speculation ... is Kal-L's body buried on Mogo? How could that play out in Blackest Night? I hardly think Mogo would be happy about Black Hand landing on him and exhuming the elder Superman ...

Looks, good. I'm looking forward to this.

This will be my only DC book that I'll be getting. Green Arrow has been squandered since Meltzer left, same with Rucka on Wonder Woman.

And this coming out in July gives me time to read all of the Green Lantern trades (I've only read Rebirth).

I'd be picking up Flash Rebirth with this, but from the reviews, I think I'll wait for that series in trade.
Someone once told me that time was a predator that stalked us all our lives. I rather believe that time is a companion who goes with us on the journey and reminds us to cherish every moment, because it'll never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we've lived. After all, we're only mortal. - Jean-Luc Picard

    Oh man these are awesome.
I'm really hoping this story lives up to the hype. The GL books have been my favorite thing on the shelves since GL Rebirth. Geoff Johns has yet to let me down, so I'm hoping this one will be right up there with those.
    But Aquaman?
I didn't even know he was dead!
