Holy crap, who let this guy start drawing comics again?! It's like Liefeld has found some crazy vortex within which to exist where the better judgement of art directors and fans is somehow perverted into viewing steaming piles of s*** as raspberry filled gumdrops of goodness. When will the world wake up?
You know what they say -- no one ever went broke underestimating the blind idiocy of the comics-buying public.
I tend to split superhero comics fans into "People who like Krypto" and "People who don't like Krypto."
Basically, if you miss the wonder of a dog flying around in a little Superman cape, you're in the wrong hobby.
-- Reptisaurus!
On second thought this looks freakin sweet! I can't wait to...NO!...I'm being sucked into Liefeld's vortex of crap!!!....up is down! left is right! horrible, aweful comic book art is good!!!
hate to burst you guys' bubbles, but it's obvious you didn't read the article. That's not Rob doing the art chores.
sorry to burst your bubble but YOU must not have read the article:
"with one volume in the planned multi-graphic novel epic now on shelves, doubters have seen how serious Liefeld (whose rough pencils on the book are finished in digital paints by artists Marat Mychaels and Mike Capprotti) takes the concept.
As much as I loathe the thought of getting in the midst of a back and forth that includes the anonymous and vulgar slagging of a comic artist whose work you're not even planning on buying, I thought I'd point out what was what in terms of the article as it seems I wasn't clear enough with my writing.
In this part:
"with one volume in the planned multi-graphic novel epic now on shelves, doubters have seen how serious Liefeld (whose rough pencils on the book are finished in digital paints by artists Marat Mychaels and Mike Capprotti) takes the concept."
The phrase "on the book" refers to the graphic novels that make up the majority of the Armageddon Now series. Later in the story, I note:
"And while the artist isn't contributing as tight of pencils as he did on the graphic novel, the work laid down by Mychaels and Capprotti carry the distinctive style of the project as a whole."
So while Liefeld is still overseeing the art for the one-shot, the finished work is all Mychaels. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough. The pitfalls of writing about several projects done in tandem by the same creators. I endeavor to do better next time.
hmmm...... considering liefelds track record with getting things out on time or even finnishing various series don't you think working on Killravel, Smash, Youngblood and Armagedon Now might be just plain stupid. I mean there are at least 3 unfinnished Youngblood mini's out there and the guys now commited himself to 4 penciling gigs......... plus the Image United stuff with the other Partners @ Image.
Romita Jr. and Bagely don't have that type of page output there's no way in hell an Image founder can do it. I'm sure we all remember what happened the last time an image founder over extended himself....... poor Wildcats 4.0, we hardly knew yee.
No Jada is also painted by Mike Capprotti, but it wasn't painted by Marat Mychaels he assisted with the pencils.
