    Default CBR: Michael Avon Oeming Talks The Spirit

    June's "The Spirit" #30 is written and drawn by "Powers" artist Michael Avon Oeming, who is donating Spirit artwork to benefit the Hero Initiative. CBR spoke with Oeming about the issue and learning from Will Eisner.

    I dont' collect this series but I will be picking up this issue. I glanced at the Cooke arc and liked it, enjoyed the film (yes, that's not a typo) and Oeming has never done me wrong. Count me in!

    This looks good and Eisner-esque, if not precisely *like* Eisner. But who would want it to be? It does somewhat echo Darwyn Cooke's look, and properly uses the chiaroscuro that ought to be as much a character in any Spirit tale as any of the human players. Well done.

    Yay! Hope you guys like. I'll post more later at some point. Also, check out the story on RAPTURE when you can, that will be out from Dark Horse folllowed byt he return of Powers. Working on the Spirit was one of the best experiences I ever had
