...Why are the Shi'ar Guard so... boring!
Oh right, they are based on DC characters. Zing!
Uninspiring piece because Mentor and Oracle are pretty minor in the pantheon of Shiar characters while Karnak and Maximus are solid second tier guys.
I'd have liked to have seen say Rachel mentioned here...she's the #$@#$@#$ @#$@#$@#$ Phoenix, ya know!
BUT, something I realized in concrete terms here....We're gonna see the GotG vs the LSH!!!!
That's awesome!
More like a pawn.
Where are the X-Jammers? 5 of the 6 white pieces so far have been Inhumans. WTF? Did CBR come up with the list or DnA?
Rachel should be a knight, especially now that she’s the Phoenix again. Rooks just move in straight lines. They’re more defensive. Knights are far more unpredictable and are used to strike. That seems more like Rachel.
This is just really disappointing. I get that the whole point of WoK is to promote the Inhumans. Fine. That’s nice for their fans.
I just wish Rachel could have been sent home, if she’s just going to be in the background. At least then she could be in Messiah War.
If you never have anything remotely positive to say, and everyone you say is negative, then just save yourself from posting because we already know what you think. You just purposely bring down the atmosphere of a thread because only YOU are un-happy about the situation with YOUR favourite character.
This was for very specific kind of characters. And frankly, Maximus and Karnak were more suitable choices than Rach. But yes, the Starjammers do deserve at least some sort of recognition, who knows, maybe in the next article... but not this one.
"We can fight all day, Sunfire. But I still won't belong to anyone- but myself. And it's been a while since I've been able to say that."- Polaris, X-Men #187.
Good, Oracle's still alive. I don't know much about most of the characters here but WoK did a good job in explaining those in the issue. I'm hopeful it will continue for the rest of the characters.
I'm not sure that the Starjammers are going to be put on a side here -- Lilandra was somehow assigned to Vulcan, and while they didn't appear in the first issue, Adam Warlock and Nova are also pretty major players who haven't been mentioned. Mostly, Rachel is a problem because Oracle is mentioned for dealing with telepaths, and unless Kingbreaker #4 changes things (unlikely) has been totally irrelevant against her.
Yeah but guys like Rocket Raccon, Starlord, and Groot were at or below the level of the Imperial Guard members besides Gladiator when DnA got ahold of them, and now they are fantastic. Plus DnA wrote the Legion over at DC for nearly 5 years, so they know how to write the characters, and therefore they should have a really good handle of the Imperial Guard members based on Legion members. Bringing somone like Mentor up to the same kind of level as Brainiac 5 is actully a great idea.
