The variant cover of New Mutants oe is out and looks awesome.....Illyana is the focus and for some reason Danielle is rocking a unibrow.not sure whats up with that. She looks fierce with her bow and arrow , though her expression is a bit much. Our girl needs to be careful, I doubt that bow will protect her for long

Well, the image with the feathers is definitely Dani. But this image is definitely Karma. The girl pulling her hair back could be either I suppose, but I always thought she was Dani.

She did so with a spear that she hid as a necklace for a long time, while at the Xavier Institute, under Magneto's tutelage.

Nunzio, I really enjoyed the short X-Men Unlimited piece about Dani. Did you and Christina write that because you were planning New Mutants, or was that the stepping stone you used to pitch New Mutants to Marvel?

She could make solid projections.
She did so with a spear that she hid as a necklace for a long time, while at the Xavier Institute, under Magneto's tutelage.

She could make the solid projections but for some reason the power was always active. So one object would not disappear until a new one took its place. So she created the spear charm as a place holder for when she didnt need to use her powers...

Talking about it that was kinda stupid... she should have just been able to create solid objects but i think that was a weak attempt to add limitations to her powers...

So we pitched him a Nightcrawler idea, and while he was trying to set that up, he wanted us to dip our toes in the Marvel waters with a Dani story.

We started plotting that, and the decision was made to relaunch New Mutants. Based on our interactions with C.B., our working with Dani on that story, and Bill Jemas having just read Skinwalker, we were offered a chance to pitch the New Mutants relaunch while writing the Dani story.

We pitched it, got the job, and kept working on the Dani story, seeing it as our way to bring Dani slowly back into the fold.

Later, as we plotted New Mutants, any connection between the Unlimited Story and where we started the series was left behind, and the Unlimited became simple standalone.

Did anyone else love the Dani era with the quantum energies powers? I thought they gave use some interesting stories with that. Plus, seeing her interact with Jennifer Kale was a plus.
