Dani Moonstar Appreciation

With a New Mutants monthly coming up , I thought the best way to introduce myself to the forums was with a thread to my favorite NM character. I just adore Dani and the way she has grown from a passive and self doubting girl to a bright and reserved woman in her own right. Her powers ( when she had them ) were off the hook and added to the complexity of her character. Her heritage is a big part of her character and her deep connections with those around her make her an intregal part of the XU with powers or not. Can't wait to see her back where she belongs come May and am interested in your views on the character and her journey

She is, she has always been so entertaining. I always thought the New Mutants were really the best X spinoff

I looooove Dani. She's awesome. I'll be picking up at least the first arc of NM just for her. I hope she gets some sort of power back. Not necessarily her original ones, but maybe her Valkyrie ones. Or something.

The asgard powers would be pretty cool. With Rahne making time with the wolf prince guy over in X-force... might make a nice bridge to Dani getting those powers back.

i never really lilked dani during the NM run, i always thought if i was on the team me and her wouldnt really get along, she seemed like shes would be a nice person but is really sure of herself and who she is.....which i guess is the point of the series....but shes one of favorites

I love Dani the most out of the original New Mutants
It wasn't her New Mutantsstatus that got me to like her
but her role in X-Force. From MLF to SHIELD and her awesome booty shorts
just adds to the hotness that is Dani. I love her fashion too
it really fits her.

Just some general topics revolving around Dani....

I always thought it was interesting that Xavier let her wear her own accessories with her uniform. A nice unique touch to her character.

I enjoyed how her powers would often pop up and ruin things at random intervals, like when Shan was getting her hair cut. It really added a sense of urgency for her and her need to be trained in the use of her powers.
Funny thing though, with all this 'training' that allegedly went on at Xavier's I don't ever recall actuall...uh....lessons. You know? It seems it was very much trial and error in the danger room.

Anyhow...

I"m really looking forward to the rest of the team's reaction to Dani's lack of mutant powers. I'm very very eager to see how here character develops in her team/family dynamic

Dani is my favorite New Mutant. I remember some of the first X-Force stories that I read were when she was Moonstar of the MLF. She's the best. I think that she should have some sort of power, because, as kick-ass as she is, her other teammates will have to kind of look out for her.

Do you suppose that the rest of the team (Sam, Illyana, Shan, Roberto and Amara) will have any hesitation about Dani being on the team? I mean, after Doug was killed and all?
Or maybe that wouldn't be a concern this long after?
Will Dani be the designated weak link? I'd hope not. Given her experience over the years, I'd think she would be a valuable tactician in the field and offer an array of knowledge from working with S.H.I.E.L.D. etc.
