CBR: Carter & Byrne on The Strange Adventures of H.P. Lovecraft
We talk to ceators Mac Carter & Adam Byrne about recasting the legendary
author of the Cthulhu mythos as an adventurer in the realms about which he
wrote, in the Tony Salmons-drawn "Strange Adventures of H.P. Lovecraft."
I'm a pretty huge Lovecraft nut -I'm even wearing an Esoteric Order of Dagon hoodie as I'm writing this- so I'm interested.
It's a bit hard to think of H.P. Lovecraft as any sort of action hero though. The guy would faint from a slight drop in temperature, among other things. And, with all due respect to the creators involved, the idea of "What if the monsters from his stories were real and he had to combat them in some fashion" has been done more than a couple of times, and that's just with comics.
