I am totally giddy for the last year of Ex Machina. I NEED to know how it ends.
Excellent. More paperbacks too, please. Before Kanalz moved on, it was briefly noted that “Astro City: The Dark Ages” would begin its third volume in 2009.
Glad to hear Point Blank and Sleeper will be kept in print. Hopefully the big Sleeper volume will be a big paperback (or two) that can be easily recommended to people buying paperbacks of Criminal.Kanalz then touched on the reprinting of Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips’ seminal “Point Blank” and “Sleeper” series. “Sleeper’s” two volumes will be collected in one omnibus-sized book.
That will be have to seen to be believed. Hopefully the softcover vol. 4 will be released soon thereafter. When asked about the final issue of “Planetary,” Abernathy assured the skeptical audience that it would be out “this year.”
Why would anyone even want to read non-Ellis Planetary? When pressed about any of the characters from that book showing up in other Wildstorm titles, the panel said it’s a “possibility,” but that they would prefer Warren Ellis’ involvement, and his current Marvel exclusivity made that impossible for the time being.
So I guess "Automatic Kafka" isn't going to be collected this year, either. Kind of hard to believe that WS is looking for more experimental titles when they won't even collect the ones they already have.
I haven't gotten to Automatic Kafka yet, but I've heard good things. Hopefully DC will collect it soon, as tracking down the individual issues is a chore.

Stormwatch and Gen-13 are going bi-monthly? Man, that seems like a sure fire way to kill both books...
You see, normally I would think that but it seems that rather than cancel the books because of low sales, it seems to be that they're trying to keep the books alive using this strategy. It is a double-edged sword but Wildstorm not only has a bad reputation they're trying to clear up with most fans, they're also fighting a struggling economy where entertainment suffers. Even Marvel and DC's numbers have dropped overall. So, I 'm just glad they're trying to keep the titles alive.

so any indication for when the World's End event will eventually complete?
All senior editor Ben Abernathy has told us at the WS message boards is that it's all building to something big in December, but still promising that it will build off of what's already happened. World's End will not simply be "fixed". And I'm glad they're not going that route.![]()

The return of Astro City is a good thing. It's still my favorite comic despite only coming out once a year.
I must have some booze. I demand to have some booze.
Conan, The Goon, Astro City, Criminal, Love and Rockets, Fatale, Saga, The Rocketeer
