    Default Spider-Man: The Short Halloween

Amazing Spider-Man: The Short Halloween, drawn by Kevin Maguire, was announced, as were its two writers, who made a "surprise" appearance at the panel: Saturday Night Live cast members Seth Meyers (also its head writer) and Bill Hader. Meyers explained that Marvel approached them during the writers' strike.

Meyers credited Hader for coming up with the title, adding "This [a comic book convention] is the only place where that would get a laugh."

Hader and Meyers were asked if they were "into comics" and for more details on their comic. "Is it going to be funny?" "No," Hader deadpanned. "It's incredibly serious." Hader said they are indeed into comics, and that they went to the Marvel Christmas party and met several creators, which led to the project. "We were walking back and saying, 'I think we just pitched them a Spider-Man idea,'" he explained. "It takes place in one Halloween night, it's a pretty simple idea and fun," added Meyers. "It's not going to be the most serious Spider-Man comic you've ever read."

    Looks like a interesting story.
I wonder which villian the writer is going to use?

And Kevin Maguire in the art department is good stuff.

    SNL?

That pretty much guarantees it's not going to be funny...

It's just easier to be negative.

SNL has actually had a really good season, and Hader and Meyers are actually pretty good on the show. Meyers does a solid weekend update and Hader has been hilarious in his numerous comedy movie roles and appearances.

    Hader rocks.
I know Kevin Nichols through a guy that knows a gal. Small world!

True and true. Got to meet both Hader and Myers after that panel and they are the friendliest, most down-to-earth guys you can imagine. I don't expect this story to trump Stern's best work but for a silly one-off? Yeah, it'll probably work especially with McGuire on art.

Allright,i had seen these preview pages before and didnt knew wich story it belongs. So this is from the "Halloween" story.

The drawings looked like some work from a artist i saw before.

Didnt recognized Kevin Maguire work first time i saw this art.

That villian there for some reason looks like the Trapster to me,but i am probally wrong.

Since Trapster never used to fly as far as i know.

Looks like a cool story anyways.

The best SNL of all time was the late 80s/early 90s stuff. It was great! You kids don't know! Back then it was called Saturday Night Live and was actually a show with comedy in it.

I wish I was there right now watching it. They did this great sketch about Superman's death and Spider-man was in it, too. I only read Marvel, so I was suprised, years later, to find out that there was actually a DC character called 'Black Lightning'.

    Rest In Peace, Sinbad!
