Default CBR: NYCC: Parker Talks "Dark Reign: The Hood"

In “Dark Reign: The Hood,” writer Jeff Parker teams with the title character's co-creator, artist Kyle Hotz, to chronicle what it's like being both the Marvel U's top “made man” and a family man. CBR spoke with Parker about the title.

This sounds pretty great. I feel like it'll help bridge the gap between BKV's Parker Robbins and Bendis' Parker Robbins. After reading Agents of Atlas, I feel comfortable with the Hood in Jeff Parker's hands.

And hey, Jeff! If you're reading this, how about we finally see the lady from the Hood's mini. White Wolf I think?

-Pav, who still wants to write a Hood/Gravity mini where they take on White Wolf and Black Death...

I'm so torn. I love Jeff Parker. But The Hood?

I guess I'll pick it up though. Gotta support Jeff on whatever he does. :)

It's the same for me. Jeff Parker can do no wrong.

I think it is awesome that Kyle Hotz is returning to do the art for this.

Awesome, I've been waiting for the Hood's family life to be brought into conflict with his new power position for a while, and I'm thrilled to see it's gonna get its own mini. By Jeff Parker, of all people. And bringing back Kyle Hotz as well!

This is gonna be great, and just what the character needs at this point.

Okay, this looks very interesting. I hope in one of the issues The Hood, and Gravity interact over lunch, or a coffee (like the scene between Robert DeNiro, and Al Pacino in Heat, or the old"Sam & Ralph" {The wolf & sheepdog} Warnerbros cartoons ), because there is a friendship between Hood & Gravity from the "Beyond" series, and Jeff Parker could have some real fun with that. too bad it's gonna cost $3.99, well I can make allowances.

I couldn't be more excited about this... I can't wait to see some preview pages for it.

This looks very interesting, I know nothing about the Hood, so I think I'll be picking this one up.
Apparently there was another series of the character a while ago, anyone care to say what the old series was about, or even if its worth picking up ?

Mos def worth picking up. It's basicly a superpower origin story without the ever present moral compass of superheroism. The character was a bit less ruthless than than when he truned up in Avengers but still a criminal. I havn't read Beyond! so I don't know what happened to him there.

Also it's a MAX book but still in 616 continuity so be prepared for a bit more swareing and violence than normal.
