You'll wanna read the latest run of New Mutants, written by Zeb Wells. As of his last issue, Miss Rasputin had her blood stones returned to her and orchestrated the defeat of the Elder Gods. These actions, however, have her currently incarcerated on Utopia, for endangering reality in her quest for vengence.

Wow. Guess I should have been reading New Mutants! What issues did this all happen in?
Thus do I write the first chapter of my new scripture. And the first verse is "Let it all burn."

    New Mutants 15-21.
The "Fall" and "Rise" of the New Mutants.
    15-19 = Fall
20-21 = Rise, and conclude Wells's writing duties with the team.

Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning are the current writers.
They've proven themselves very adept at addressing continuity and conveying voice/personality of all the characters thus far, after only one issue.

I would really love to get my hands on it but I'm not going to bother bidding on it. I've become pretty much frustrated bidding items from ebay. I wish ebay does a first-come-first-serve basis instead.

    Illyana In The Flesh

Her, in a live version of this scene, would be...

    MAGIK

Okay guys, gals and everyone in between: Speculation Time!

Uncanny X-Men's Fear Itself tie-in is steadily approaching! JULY!!!
And it looks like we get 2 installments!!!

So let the theories and guesses for Magik's involvment commence!

She's the magical authority on Utopia, of course, so will she be released to help deal with Juggernaut's rampage??

Or will Kitty bust her out?

Does Colossus seek her guidance in becoming the NEXT Juggernaut to defend the Island and/or San Fran?

    What say you, Illyana fans??

Best guess, she's the one with the only real chance of calming Colossus down.

An interview about Colossus's role in Fear Itself may reveal some interesting clues as to how Illyana will be tied to the story gang!!!!
    Read below!!!
To stop the monster that Cyttorak’s gem fueled in the first place, Colossus comes to the magical being looking to make a deal. As for the exact nature of that bargain, Gillen says it’s simple but with a twist.

“It’s the same deal as ever: ‘Whosoever touches this gem shall possess the power of the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak! Henceforth, you who read these words, shall become forevermore a human juggernaut!’” he recites. “Though it's not that Piotr is the sort to actually make that deal.”

A deal like cannot be taken lightly. If Colossus does indeed choose to accept, Gillen promises it’s not something trivial or easily forgotten.

“Colossus is a character who's always leaned towards sacrificial,” he reminds. “He's the sort of person who'll give up something for someone else, no matter what the cost. And this is that abstractly good character leading him into a very bad place.

Gillen said that the relationships between Illyana, Kitty, and Colosssus will be explored. Haven't seen that in some time. I look forward to it.

I just brought Uncanny X-Men #160, the issue where seven year old Illyana was kidnapped to Limbo and aged seven years to become the "adult" Illyana(that's how Wizard labeled it: Uncanny #160: 1:Adult Illyana). I have also been reading the Magik: Storm & Illyana trade...love it. This is kind of a delicate question, but...there were a LOT of sexual undertones in that mini series...did Belasco ever--erm--"have it off" with Illyana? And the older Storm and Cat seemed a bit cosy as well...

Speaking of girl-on-girl... Should we make anything of the fact that whenever Magik dies, Shadowcat gets her powers and SoulSword? They have been described as soulmates, and Magik has never shown any interest in males that I can recall...

Claremont seemed to make most of his females implied bi-sexuals, didn't he?
Bravo for your taste in characters.

As I'm sure you can imagine, Marvel has never explicitly delved into what Belasco might have done to Illyana, but no, you're definitely not the first to see some very disturbing suggestions in the abduction. It's especially creepy when you consider that in pretty much every one of his previous appearances, Belasco was trying to abduct some woman to be his "bride".

The soulmates thing is tricky--Kitty seems definitively straight (although she attracts lesbians like moths to a flame, especially when Claremont is writing, she doesn't appear to know what to do with them). The Soulsword is purely Yana's, though, and it could go to Kitty based on one-sided feeling on her part. That's how I've always chosen to read it, anyway.

There's more discussion on both topics earlier in the thread, if you're interested.

Hm... possibly they expect that Illyana can perform an exorcism on Piotr when they're done needing the Juggernaut's power, but it fails?
