the 'rama has an interview that compliments these designs nicely ~ http://www.newsarama.com/comics/0109...torm-Reed.html

not bad ~ not sure how i feel about the artist's style just yet~ seems a little "late 90s Image" to me, need to see some inks and colors on it before making a judgement.

I really like that Punisher looks Ares inspired, i wonder if that is intentional?

Curious why Ghost Rider looks so "old west" but i'd imagine it's such a deliberate look that it's story-driven.

only design that i don't care for/seems out of place is the Human Torch ~ he looks like he should be in the Legion of Super Heroes to me for some reason, just doesn't quite feel "Marvel-ish"

I am really looking forward to this mini series. Hopefully this will lead to more 2099 mini series. The designs looks good. It'll be nice to see Eric Battle take another crack at 2099 characters. His art has progressed nicely over the years.

Judging from that Newsarama interview i guess this is a revisioning of the 2099 Universe ala Newuniversal.

I hope hoping for a return, but i can deal with a revisioning. I just hope it doesn't stray too far from what was before. There was a lot of great stuff to come out of the 2099 line.

I guess I wasn't the only one who thought that. It kinda fits seeing as Cerebra is a telepath.

hopefully she can use that telepathy to see when people are trying to punch her in from behind in her large exposed brain.

I quite liked the 2099 line especially Spidey and Ellis' Doom.

I'd be more interested in this if Brian Reed wasn't attached. I can't think of anything he's done that stands out.

OH MAN so excited for this. I grew up with the Spider-man 2099 comics. They were some of the first stuff I ever read. This is gonna be soo cool.

    Much the same here.

Not really interested in seeing the two time periods interact but I'll take Spider-Man 2099 anyway I can get it.

Arg, must we continue to re-hash old concepts instead of making an effort to come up with something new?

I'll be sure to torrent this so I can find out how little I should care about it without wasting my money.

When the "something new" titles don't sell, but the "re-hashes" do, then, yes, I don't mind that they do. Besides. Marvel didn't stop all production on all things new just to create this. You should know better than that. Or are we simply cranky today?

And it's about the right time for something like this, we've been through 80's nostalgia, 90's is starting to appear now.
