I am going to try this series, as soon as it comes out. Those covers look great and I've heard good things about The Warlord for years. I've been wanting to experience it and now is the time. I'll also be getting those reprints from DC. I'm in the mood for some sword-and-sorcery again! Yay to DC and Mike Grell!!

I may check this out (as well as the reprints).

I was wondering when we'd hear about this. I'm definitely interested.

Hopefully they will get the reprints out near the start of the new series to help sell the current book.

I'm game, but I am a fan of Mike Grell and the original Warlord series. If you are curious about Mike Grell's work, check out some of the Jon Sable Freelance trades that IDW did. They are really well done and even though that book is definitely of the 80s, it is still a good read.

I'm not at all familiar with the Warlord concept, beyond what I've read on Wikipedia and seen in the Dini/Timmverse, but I'm totally interested and intrigued by this. I'm definitely looking forward to trying this series out.

This news had made my day. Not only do we finally get reprints of the original series, but Grell has returned to offer all new stories. I'm a huge fan of the Warlord and this has been long overdue. I can't wait.

I second earl's recommendation for Jon Sable as well. A great series and a must read for all Grell fans.

I was on the fence if I wanted to read this one (mainly due to my budget) but now I'm certain that this series deserves a shot. Can't wait.

I'm looking forward to this. I really really want an Absolute edition hardcover collection of the original Warlord complete, and put the supplemental stories in a separate book, except for Wizard World because that actually moves the plot along.

    Default Bit miffed....

Bit miffed about these reprints. A far better plan would be to just publish the new series, get tons of people enthused.... refuse to reprint old material... and watch back issue prices soar. That... sir... is my completely detached view, and has nothing to do with the fact that I stashed all 133 issues away a long time ago.

    No, seriously... its good news.
