Pham's artwork looks so much better before it's inked.
I know Kevin Nichols through a guy that knows a gal. Small world!
If nihilism didn't take some delight in destruction one might suspect nihilists were an unnaturally morbid sort.

Slott's understanding of the Avengers is so spot-on, it's eerie. I think he just made the A-list of writers.
So is Iron Man gonig to on the team I just skimmed it but it sounded like he is going to be.
He convinced me of that with the INitiative.
It's one thing to make a marketable book with well known character... but to pull if off with brand new ones and Z listers is nothing short of amazing.
I will say this though... I think he's pushing Hank a little too hard down our throats. I guess that's what you have to do if you wanna try to elevate someone into an A lister.
But we're already seeing Time Lord stuff that really outshines anyone's tech, aside from Reeds. I'm already at the point where I almost have to put Pym ahead of Stark (despite Pyms Stark inferiority complex). If Pym had been using all this stuff right from the Stark rather than just skrinking and growing, he wouldn't need to worry about feeling inferior.
Slott's take on the Avengers is just about perfectly in synch with mine. He's been one of my favorite authors for years and I loved his first issue. The lineup is good, like ALMOST perfect. Quicksilver joining might put it just right, actually!
I'm also hoping for some Wonder Man either here or in The Initiative.

Really love the fact that slott emphasizes how he will write all types of size stories rather than the typical 6 issue padded arcs that go on in most of the books. Bendis could learn some things from this guy.
Hi, my name is Peter Parker and I make satanic pacts with demons..I shall not buy Amazing Spider-Man until the marriage returns. Be a part of the movement.
Pym should be ahead of Stark.
Tony's a gifted engineer. A visionary in making things work. But he's not a scientist. He didn't invent the microchip..he figured how to make it work better and dance for him.
Pym is a scientist. He develops theories and makes the discoveries that someone like Tony then develops and uses.
I think Dan is trying to play the man possessed angle. After the mental breakdown in Mighty, in issues like AI#20 it really does seem like he's really and truly trying to get his shit together finally in his own Pymy way. He realizes he's a big ball of neurosis but he's actually trying to proactively break through it instead of crying through it (well..for the most part).I will say this though... I think he's pushing Hank a little too hard down our throats. I guess that's what you have to do if you wanna try to elevate someone into an A lister.
The first issue definitely caught my attention in a way that The Avengers titles haven't been able to up till now. Slott has pretty much without a doubt become just about my favorite writer since I came back to the hobby.
Glad to hear Wanda will be staying, she's a good catch and a lightning rod of attention right now. Can't wait to hear how the mutant populace reacts once word gets out.
Hopefully Quicksilver will not be far behind.

I'm beginning to think that Hell is a comic book forum.

True, but on Hanks end of things he's barely done more than making things shrink and grow for the past few decades.
Obviously he has the potential to do a great deal more... we're seeing that here. If he'd done more of this in the past, he wouldn't be considered somewhat of a joke.
Reed Richards can stretch... but that's not his "real" power. Hank could have been the Avengers Reed Richard all these years. But instead he decides to spend his time growing big so he can punch things. Talk about an under achiever.
I like some of his ideas, but at the same time almost everything screams "I SO loved Avengers when I was a kid, and everything was beter then" (and I had a similar impression reading the first issue). I hope Slott simply isn't trying to make this book what the Avengers were in the 70's or 80's or just something opposite to Bendis'. Like I said in the MA #21 thread, appeal to nostalgia only isn't going to work for me.
That's right! Al Gore invented the internet, let's all go kick his ass!
I got your inconvenient truth right here, motherf*&¨%!

Wowee, Dan just hinted that after the first arc and several issue later, he states that the Mighty Avengers will be going up against a major mainstream Marvel team...
Who wants to bet it's either the X-men or Norman's Dark Avengers or even the Agents of Atlas.![]()
I pray it's the X-Men! With all this awesomeness that Slott talks, I know he'll address the Mutants-have-a-bone-to-pick-with-the-Witch issue at some point!!! His interview was sweet! Wanda confirmed was SUPER sweet! And I think it's probably safe to assume that Hank, Jocasta, and Jarvis are safe, and I bet Quicksilver will be on the team! He tends to mention them, the twins, alot when talking about his fave eras of the past! *fingers*crossed* Oh, it's so nice to have the Avengers back!
