Love that 70th anniversary Cap cover.
$9.99 is a little much for a bunch of Marvel Masterworks ads.
God, Skottie Young is perfect for the Oz adaptation
That USM solicit is . . . oddly worded. What's up?
Not a fan of the DD: NOIR cover. Foggy Nelson, P.I., though? Could be fun.
". . . his useless, halfwit brother, Dog." Heh.
A new Slott-written Spider-Man/Human Torch story, finally. Too bad they couldn't get Ty Templeton, though.
The double homage cover thing for the new Punisher series is getting just a little bit tired.
Bendis and Maleev, together again! How long ago was that announced?
"Wolverine Art Appreciation Variant" . . . uh . . .
On the IRON FIST cover, that's almost Kirby-level headgear.
Is that a Lockjaw puppy? It's almost too cute.
WAR OF KINGS: ASCENSION. Talon? Interesting.
What's NEW MUTANTS SAGA promoting?
Dave Johnson's been doing some nice work on his PUNISHER MAX covers.
INCREDIBLE HERC is getting the oversized hardcover treatment? Hot damn! I'm also definitely on board for the Fraction Thor oversized HC.
The meaning of the word "essential" is really taking a beating, here.

Ah yes...It's going to be a good year to be a Deadpool fan, isn't it?
I'm surprised they didn't solicit a new Wolverine: Agent of W.O.L.V.E.R.I.N.E. ongoing for good measure though.
Wolverine art appreciation sounds like something you would put together to mock the general conclusion that Wolverine appears way too damn much under the guise of a cute movie tie-in.
I'm beginning to think that Hell is a comic book forum.

There's not enough Wolverine being solicited.
Will there be Obama covers?
Marvel should publish nothing but Obama covers.....
The Elektra cover shows a whole lot of arrows! Think maybe the new "Hawkeye" wants a rematch?
ELEKTRA*LADY MASTERMIND*DAREDEVIL*ARIEL
WHOA! Is Ultimate Spider-Man ending? I see Spider-Woman is finally beginning so is Bendis leaving a title behind to work on that one? That USM solicit is definitely confusing.
EXILES is back. I thought they were retiring it with the end of Claremont's run (which'll be under 20K in sales).
And it's by Jeff Parker.![]()
Wolverine's my favorite character, and even I think that the Wolverine Art Appreciation covers are a bit much. The only way that they would be cool is if it features Wolverine with the actual characters that are appearing in the book...then we might get an awesome cover with like Wolverine, Moon Knight & the Punisher, or Wolverine and Daredevil. Otherwise, it's a bit unnecessary.
Faves: Wolverine: Weapon X, the Avengers, X-Force, etc

Terry Moore's off Runaways already? That doesn't sound good.

random thoughts as i read these:
Marcos Martin + James Robinson + Captain America?!?!?!?![]()
squuuuueeeeeee!!!!
seriously, that is an amazing creative line up. I'm down for both of these 70th anniversary tributes. Marcos Martin is one of my favorite new artists from the last couple years...
(ok, had to jump to the 'rama cuz CBRs servers are gankin')
(ok, back cuz there link is still just going to the "preview" listings )
"ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #133
The end of an era? The last issue of Ultimate Spider-Man?"
reeeeellllyyyyy??? (that's an awful lot of question marks though) I'll be reallyy sad if my favorite book is canceled, but dang, ballsy move if nothing else. (but, honestly, who doesn't smell a relaunch)
love the quesada ASM cover.
Dark Reign: The Cabal sounds good plus Fraction and Hickman
still completely beyond irritated i ahve to drop New Avengers and pass on Dark Avengers. what the --- were they thinking raising the prices on those.![]()
Ramos was such a poor choice for Avengers: The Initiative.
Kho Pham seems to have changed up his style a bit for Slott's Mighty Avengers ~ i like it better than his Secret Invasion issues.
really excited for Secret Warriors and Agents of Atlas, those books need to start already!!! Can't wait for the Agents -vs- New Cap! Granov killed that cover ~ i love how he made M-11 look 'functional' while still totally keeping the 50s B-movie look.
DARK REIGN: HAWKEYE #1 (of 5) ~ why is this $4 and DR: Fantastic Four $3? wonder if this is going to star Clint or Bullseye (or more likely both ~ can't imagine Clint or the new Hawkeye are gonna be too stoked having a spycho running around pretending to be Hawkeye)
I wonder what the point of the Punisher variants is ~ interesting that this is the first one with a lot of re-drawing (Frank's the same, but the entire background is new). i keep thinking about trying this, but i really wasn't that into War Journal which i gave a go for a few issues...
Jo Chen is one of my absolute favorite cover artists. not getting The Reunion, but the covers are a sight to behold.
...and Spider-Woman will be yet ANOTHER title i pass on @ $4. dammit Marvel/BendisI've been waiting for this for what, 4 years!?!?
Is anyone excited for the Female Black Panther? i've got no beef one way or another (i'm not anti-Hudlin, but i don't think he's that great of a writer either), but i feel like this relaunch has ZERO buzz.
another Captain America story by Jenkins? no thank you. I'm exactly opposite as excited for that as i am about the 70th anniversary special and the build up to Cap #50.
i only grabbed Captain Britain and MI-13 for the Secret Invasion crossover ~ i liked it but it didn't quite "hook me" but after the Dr. Doom and Dracula on the moon teaser, i might have to give it another go (especially since i'm dropping or skipping all the $4 books)
Astonishing Tales is intriguing ~ it is $4 but it's oversized (i have no problem dropping more than $3 on an oversized book), and the covers are beyond gorgeous. Plus it's got Arno Stark, the Iron Man of 2020 (remember when 2020 sounded like "the future", lol). might have to wait for reviews on #1...
Fantastic Force seems.... unnecessary. but the concepts not bad, but do I kinda feel like Marvel's maybe churning out a few too many of these Legacy concepts here lately (i reallize DCs got years on them, so they have to catch up, lol). but i'm really, really not liking this expression "Plus, 8 pages of Director's Cut Extras!" that i'm seeing on several; $4 listings ~ so you get more, but not really ~ it'll be sketches or script pages or something. Save it for the Graphic Novel. With all of Bendis' books going to $3.99, i'm totally shocked Fantastic Four and Wolverine haven't ~ Millar's'll be next, though, mark my words.
Speaking of unnecessary legacy characters, we have a new She-daughter-of-the-Hulk from the future ~ so new books featuring 2 offspring of the Hulk in the same month??? that's what i meant by seems a little overdone...
The Hulk covers make me contiunue too wonder what the appeal of Ed McGuinnes is, i've never 'got' his art at all.
Iron Fist looks a little funny with a beard sticking out of his mask, but doesn't change the fact i CANNOT wait for this story to kick off or the fact that it's still one of the best books on the stands. Big ups to Duane and Travel for taking the reigns and not really losing a beat.
Wow, i would have thought they'd wait until Halloween to kick of Marvel Zombies 4...
woah, Exiles is getting another go?
I'd love to get Timestorm, but it's another $4 mini ~ maybe in trade, i love me some Spidey 2099.
very, very excited for Aaron and Garney on Weapon X ~ the creative team and format (semi-self contained, light-on-continuity tales) sound great to me.

oh hell yeah!!! i know it won't be, but i'd give anything for this to be re-colored. that was a really terrible era for coloring technology...
wow, that was a nice surprise to round out the solicits!!!
I've been trying to figure out what these will be ~ my best guess is Classic works of art recreated with Wiolverine/logan ~ like, think the Mona Lisa, but with Loagn sitting there... i'd imagine just some silly fun before the movie ~ if this is the case, i can't wait to see them :p.
