Default Who supports a new "Defenders" title??

Well Hulk#10 is coming soon now.And in that number we see the return of the "Defenders".
If a new title based on this team apears would have my suport.
The members of the team are some of the strongest characters in the Marvel "Universe".
    Hulk,Silver Surfer,Doc Strange and Namor.
One of the aspects that i liked to see here would be a good use of enemies.
The writter had to come up with some strong enemies for this team.
One other strong element of this title would be a team operating without having nothing to do with two examples of teams "school" that exists in Marvel now.
    Which are Avengers and X-Men.
So this would bring some welcome fresh air in the curent Marvel teams books.
And would replace the place that "New Warriors" had in that matter.
So anybody suports this idea as well?
    Feel free to coment.

It would depend on who was on the team. If I like the lineup, I might try the book.

If, however, it picks up where The Last Defenders left off, count me out. I was disappointed by that mini.

Apparently no one, since the three of the attempts at doing the Defenders in the last... what, 7 years or so have been poor sellers/not good enough for a regular series numbers.

I dont' think the main 4 Defenders are really in any sort of position to have any sort of on-going title together. They're all doing their own thing.

I am okay with the occasional Defenders mini though. And I do think them teaming up in Hulk will be a lot of fun.

I think that the Defenders title Would work better if they went back to the start with the original team.
The one that is going to apear in Hulk#10.

It would have to be the good team of Defenders. The New Defenders.

Beast, Iceman, Angel, Gargoyle, Moondragon, Valkyrie, and Cloud.

    The Defenders

The Defenders is a name of a number of Marvel Comics superhero groups — usually presented as a "non-team" of individualistic "outsiders" each known for following their own agendas — that usually battles mystic and supernatural threats

    Black Panther
    Storm
    Ghost Rider
    Moon Knight
    Hellcat
    Werewolf by Night
    Blue Marvel

The other 4 really can't team up at the moment. Besides, Strange was a member of NA recently, and will appear there again, and Hulk is appearing in MA.

And I think another group calling themselves Defenders would strike me as very random.

But that doesn`t mean that a new regular series number of defenders is going to be a poor seller.
The original title of X-Men was canceled because of poor sales and when the title came back got the sales everybody knows.

I do think you can get away with another Defenders team by using people like Nighthawk, Hellcat, and Valkyrie.

It's sort of like having an Avengers team without Cap, Thor, and Iron Man... or having a JLA without Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. It CAN be done, even though it's not quite the same.

That said, I doubt it would sell well.

I'd love to see more of Joe Casey's "Last Defenders" myself. The mini was really good, IMO, and we only got a teasing look at Richmond's new team that I would really like to see developed further.

Yes, but there have been three separate attempts (four if you count The Order) to relaunch the Defenders since 2002. They've had several chances of getting their Giant Sized X-Men #1. And not by unknowns, either - Busiek, Larson, Giffen, DeMatties, Maguire, Casey...

The team up in this book would be the one where a big enemy schows up and with their strenght combined they can take the enemy down.
It would be a more loose team.
Where the heroes could still have their own agenda and carry on the stories they have in their own title.
By other hand the only member that have his own book is "Hulk".
So this could work as well to see more stories of many of those characters without a curent book.
And just because Doc Strange is in New Avengers that doesnt mean he can be in another team as well.
After all in how many teams is Wolverine now?

I'm not sure that team has a chance though.

It seems like She-Hulk might be doing the Lady Liberators thing, and Son of Satan might even end up in the Midnight Sons (though who knows if that's a permanent thing). That team concept to me at least just sort of seemed destined to fail. Even in that series, we only saw that actual team in like 1 issue.

Maybee if the writers try a diferent aproach to this title this time it would sell better.
Just by keeping the core original plot of the "Defenders".
By keeping the initial plot simple they can do good stories with this team in my opinion.
