Default The Dark Knight: Nolans, Goyer and Tall Buildings

... was it a prerequisite in the script all the main characters had to fall off a tall building at least once in the movie? If so, where was Alfred's scene?

Also, what's with both Bruce _and_ Harvey discussing things with the phrase 'play it close to the chest'? Couldn't a story or script editor catch this (minor quibble it may be)?

I dunno. I just watched The Dark Knight again and can't help but think it you look at it closer it really isn't much more than a well lit, just 'okay' movie. It looks pretty, but I don't see how people think it is such an amazing script.

Nolan is holding out for that remake of Vertigo

Actually on that 'jumping off buildings' thing, was I the only one who noticed the action sequence in China with Bats was similar to Tom Cruise's scene in Mission Impossible 3.

It might even have being the same building!

Maybe Bruce and Harvey used the same phrases to show how similar they were.

Or maybe Bruce was just trying to be like Harvey because he lurved him so much.

Didn't notice Bruce and Harvey both used the same phrase. I thought the story overall was good. I didn't regret going to the theater to see it.

Perhaps "The Dark Knight" being far superior film to "Batman and Robin" gives the impression that it is an amazing script.

They used the same phrase, but neither was aware of the other using it. Harvey was talking to Gordon and Bruce was talking to Lucius. Bruce might've overheard him, but I think that he said it before anyway.

I hope that Shrike wasn't comparing The Dark Knight to Batman and Robin. Even if The Dark Knight is average, that's still head and shoulders (and most of the upper torso as well as legs down to the ankles) better than Batman and Robin. I think that I've only seen one movie that's worse.

hahaha no, I know that Dark Knight is STILL far ahead of the game than Batman and Robin...
