Though I was really disappointed with how the Black costume was done in the Back in Black storyline. I think it's a case where modern colouring techniques actually make it look worse than classic 80s style colouring does. Too many shiny highlights.

I was disappointed with the way they brought back the black costume, as it continues to be associated with bad things in the Spider-verse.

That was a problem, but it existed in the 80s, too.

I liked the Spider-Man 2099 costume anyway -- and since I didn't like the three extra arms on the Iron Spidey suit, I wouldn't want to see them show up on a costume I already like!

But the 2099 costume was pretty kick-ass. I didn't include it because it's not Peter's costume.

It's very close, but not quite. The symbol is almost an exact duplicate from the Ross design, I think.

I think that the Iron Spider is underrated.
I think that it's the second best alternate costume after the black suit.
Still the classic is the best of all.

I agree totally. I think there is a possibility that the Iron Spider suit has a bit of a stigma attached to it because of the association with Iron Man and civil war and all that. I personally liked them waldoe thingies, I thought that art of him in that suit over Caps shield (by Mike Turner, who sadly passed away) was bloody awesome. I didn't like the House of M version and I don't like the 2099 one either, in fact unless I've missed any the only ones I like at all are the classic suit, the black one or the Iron spider one all the others just look like $h!t versions of the classic one. I suspect I am in the minority here though.

Doesn't do it for me I'm afraid. Don't like the emblem or the web things on the wrist being on the outside. Each to their own though, that's the good thing about there being quite a few different versions I suppose.
