can you crack the code?
I hope Barack Obama isn't in the issue to much, I don't really like him.
I'm not sure how feel about this, regardless of political tendencies. It really feels like kissing ass...
yeah it's not like they did to him what they did with Nixion
Cyclops ad portas
It's a 5-page gimmick and alternate cover. It'll have no bearing on my enjoyment of the comic (and I'm an Obama supporter).
Any particular reason?
This strikes me as a win/ win situation for Marvel for a variety of reasons...
- Zeb Wells is probably the writer I'd trust most to handle a five page story, so it could be a good project.
- Todd Nauck is a solid artist, so this can get him publicity.
- It will likely sell better than usual. And possibly even get some attention.
- And it's just one more example of Spider-Man interacting with the real world, something he's done since Stan Lee's "ripped from the headlines" stories.
- A one-off issue by Mark Waid is the perfect intro to ASM for any new readers.
"Uuuh... Well it um... it's creating change, and that's what's important. It's spreading the wealth to three weeks of the month instead of just one. I'm glad they taxed the hell out of that first week so they could spread it to the other two. However, my administration intends to provide Spider-care to every week of the month, for free. Wait ...it doesn't work like that, you said? Oh. Well... uh... I'm not in a position to comment at this time."
I think that would be close enough. :D
Haha, yay. As if I weren't happy enough that the better person won the election!
This will be a fun collector's item.
That is good that Marvel did that I guess. Not that he really deserves any respect after what he's done, but I digress. (And I freaking voted for the dummy!)And to be fair, we Republicans owe Marvel for generally being respectful to Bush
As a guy from Chicago(and if you're from Chicago you're from Chicago not Illinois) I am both pleased and disappointed by this as I really like Obama but hate bnd spiderman.
As for experience, though I can't speak for it myself I've heard bouncing around the world then going to Harvard could be considered quite the experience...
