It's been awhile since I've read GLA. Anyone know what in it alluded to Reckoning War?

The GLA mini involved Oblivion and Maelstrom and the need for a Deathurge (a role Doorman now fills).

Maelstrom's scheme or Oblivion's involvement or even that outcome with Doorman may be important later.

I totally dig the Baron, and would have loved to read about his early supervillain days. Hope Gage picks up on that at some point.
I know Kevin Nichols through a guy that knows a gal. Small world!

It was the name Spider-Man gave him, which is GREAT because spider-man is the average man (read: fan) of the Marvel U. Gotta Love Slott.
    I'm STILL with Iron Man.

That was actually a Chris Gage bit-- which I thought was WONDERFUL!
See? The Initiative's in more than safe hands. It's in QUALITY hands!

I'm a latecomer to this series. I bought the first issue, but it was about a group of new characters with no ties to the Avengers -- not at all what the cover "promised."

It took SI to get me to try it again. I definitely prefer Triathlon as the 3-D Man, and it was pretty cool to learn that all of the Initiative teams had one Skrull as a member. Some of the art in recent issues has really blown me away.

But what really interests me is the use of characters like Hellcat and Tigra (boy, I wish someone would give this character a break -- her mini from a few years ago was a good "reboot" of the character, but Bendis really did a number on her). Had I seen more third-string former Avengers from the beginning, I probably wouldn't have dropped the series so quickly.

How about one of those whacky Arnim Zola vs Baron Blitzschlag chess games on base Dan was talking about?

    That would be priceless.

Awesome! I'm on board, Mr. Gage. Hopefully, someday the Initiative will learn to respect the Baron's seniority!

I gotta admit, I love how everyone treats him like crap rather than give us the "don't judge him because of his past" hippy jargon.

Lets face it, we all know this guy is still a devious lil weasel at heart.

    Hmm.

I suppose playing god is okay as long as you love your bastardizations of nature created in the name of the US government.

Alright, I'll give you that one.

Sounds good. But what's with Reptil? The character who first appeared in Superhero Squad.
