Know, what. I haven't picked up an iron Man title since before heroes reborn.
This storyline may just bring me back into the armored fold.
What's odd is that it seems all the MU heroe's companies are under fire (well Startk and Rand.anyways) It'll be interesting to see these guys slumming it like spidey. And dogged by norman, like spidey.
consider me on board.
i love you, Victoria Hand!
Its absolutely crazy the amount of people that have referenced using Ellis' version of Osborn to write the stories in Dark Reign. Tbolts wasn't the fastest selling comic at the time and even with the new writer and heavy hints about Dark Reign, it still isn't!
To me, this looks like the death of Tony Stark. We already saw when Tony was in charge, that all opponents were defeated, and if Tony gets defeated by the man in charge this time, he's dead. This just has a fatal feel about it, with Tony on the run, and when he gets caught, Osborn will soon see he has no use for him.
I look to it as the beginning of the rise of the true Tony Stark. Dictator Tony is not really him at his best as 2006 situation forced him to do just that. Just as his origin story was, his best moment comes from when he's cornered. This is it. Pressing times breeds innovation.
Oh yes there are plenty of ways Tony can surprise Osborn so Osborn will need to call his Dark Illuminati associates to join forces. Unlike most heroes, he can make the whole earth as his escape routes.
If Salvador Larroca is going to keep drawing Iron Man, then the following things need to be done:
a) He's going to have to realize that Tony Stark's package would be huge, not nonexistant.
and
b) If Pepper is going to keep looking like Nicole Kidman and Hill is going to keep looking like Rachel Maddows, then I demand Tony look like Robert Downey Jr. and not...a Greek Nathan Fillion.
Kinda hard who to know to root for, Tony who I've grown to hate or Osborn who've I've hated for years. But this is marvel, good guys and bad guys are interchangeable. What I am looking forward to seeing is Tony on the run from HAMMER troops the way he put other people on the run from SHIELD troops, and trying to explain to the rest of the hero community that this is different from when he was chasing them. The hypocrisy will practically drip from the page.

I heard that Larocca was a good artist, but I can't see it. There seems to be inordinate amounts of tracing involved in this comic - and why is Tony Stark looking like that Sawyer guy from lost?
To be honest, I'm glad that Stark has been brought down (and I like the guy). He has to redeem himself, big time. I'm looking forward to it.
But for the love of Pete, change the artist and the muddy digital shading, please. I'm thisclose to dropping the title because of the art.
