So I guess Daken's going to get an offer for employment from the United States government soon, enh?
I'm curious as to how Daken is going to "arm up" for the upcoming fight with Romulus? If it's way more messed up than just getting adamantium claws like his old man, it's definitely got me curious. Perhaps adamantium skin like Cyber's?
Well, that's hideous. Still no interest in this book. I'll stick with Wolverine: First Class."...In his opinion, I don't think he can ever justly say that he's a hero,” Way said. “We as readers know that as he struggles onwards with this that he remains a hero, but at this point in his life that fantasy of being a hero is done for him.
I think his point was that now that Logan knows all of the horrible things he has done in the past he can never see himself as a hero, but the readers certainly still do. Doesn't seem like much has changed IMO, as I don't think Wolverine ever really saw himself as a hero. He's much too cynical for that. Other people see him that way (including his fans).
That's right! Al Gore invented the internet, let's all go kick his ass!
I got your inconvenient truth right here, motherf*&¨%!

Until Daniel Way proves himself in his Wolverine run by bringing in Erista the next issue I will only continue reading Deadpool.(Where he has proven himself)

Well, that's hideous.........
I think that's kind of the point. Wolverine has done some awful stuff in his past and now has to atone for that. That's what makes him a hero, and has always made him a hero. It's just now we're actually finding out what that awful stuff was, and it's not any more pleasant for us (the readers) to find out than it was for him. Before it was just always alluded to. We knew that Logan did some bad stuff in his past and that there were things he didn't even know about (because of the memory loss), but which were definitely bad. That's why he's always had trouble viewing himself as a hero on some level (even though he didn't know the specifics of every bad thing he'd done). Now he knows, and we know.
He's still a hero in my book because he's trying to atone for it, but I agree with you that it makes him a much "grayer" character than he was before. I now view Logan less like Han Solo (i.e., a loveable scoundrel) and more like Rambo or Jack Bauer (i.e., someone who did some really awful stuff in the past, but is on the side of the angels now). He's just a more "grown up" character in my mind now. Which makes sense because it seems that the entire Marvel Universe has become more "grown up" and darker.
The Ultimate Universe, on the other hand, is like some emo teenager's dark fantasy. Dark, yet still childish and annoying.
LOL, Daken really is hilarious.
I'm starting to like him.
