    Default Reign in Hell?

So apparently there's a war in hell and it's all based on Satan promoting hope?

and somehow this is going to affect all the magical being's in the Dcu?

Oook did anyone else read this ?

The backup strip features Dr. Occult talking to Ralph and Sue about what's going to happen with the war in hell.

I'm not crazy about the art on either strips but the first one was really over the top and i thought the inking looked sloppy.

the second one had art by Stephen Segovia and that's not his best work either.

I'm not sure i will be picking up the rest of this series.

I love love love that "sloppy" inking by the masterful Bill Sienkievicz. It's pretty much the only reason I am getting this series.

I've decided to drop it. Giffen was getting really good with writing solid stories, but this one doesn't work. Seems kinda aimless.

The art's been great, though; primarily because of Sienkiewicz's inks. His art itself can be scary, but sometimes when inking a good artist like Denerick - who's a bit bland at times, no offense - the results looks remarkable.

(He also inked Sal Buscema during the Spidey Clone Saga, and while it was a VAST change in style at the time, I've grown to really like it)

I also liked Segovia's art on the backup, but there've been fill in artists and that killed the vibe that story had going.

A more accurate title would have been Reign in the Quarter Bins.

    Not really, pretty self-contained.

With the return of Lobo in hell (who previously refused to allow him in, therefore making Lobo immortal/unkillable), I'm going to continue reading. The idea of Blaze and Satanus using the platform of Hope and Change to take Hell over is rather subversive.

I thought it was pretty funny and weird that the Chimp detective and the sorceress chick were hanging out in a cafe and there was some lady looking rather astonished.

sort of makes me nostalgic for them

I kind of hate retcons like that, though.

Don't like what some writers did with Thanos? They were all clones! Dr Doom acting out of character? Robots! Elektra? Skrull! Other people wrote your Lobo? It was a fake Lobo created by Neron!

And why not just say it was another clone of Lobo? He is the ONE character where no one would blink at the mention of clones.

I've been wondering if that's some sort of political statement on our president elect.
But it just seems too bizarre.

It's basically a sequel to the Helmet of Fate specials, the Dr Fate mini, Shadow Pact and this Superboy issue:
