Hugh Jackman will host the 81st annual Academy Awards. Given "The Dark
Knight's" pre-Oscar buzz, it's likely Wolverine will preside over a triumphant night
for the Batman, echoing scenes from "Batman Vs. Wolverine" a.k.a. "The
Prestige."

I don't know. I think you need a comedian with some stature to host the awards right. I don't think anyone's topped Steve Martin in a while.

The ability to win awards for his hosting capabilities (Won an Academy Award for hosting the Tony's in 2004) and, if you saw him in "The Boy from Oz" (again, he won a Tony for THAT onstage performance), there's a point in the middle of the play where he breaks the fourth wall and improves with the audience for a good 20 minutes (no lie) which is said to be hysterical. So I guess his stand-up routine may not be too shabby either.

The bit that I quoted implies that they play those characters - or at least, ones like them - in The Prestige. ("AKA" means "also known as", if that helps any.) That isn't remotely the case. Once again it seems like people reporting at CBR are so desperate to find a comics reference in a story that they'll draw imaginary connections.
