Nice!
I love all the John Romita Sr. vintage looking covers, but I'll probably just buy the Ross cover (not one for buying variant covers-I'd rather buy another comic)![]()
Picked up the 'Death Defying Devil' yesterday-
I'm loving all these spin offs from 'Project Superpowers' & am onboard for the long haul-
I hope we get toys~![]()
Yeah those are great covers. One thing about the whole Project Superpowers stuff is that they've had stunning covers. But, with the exception of the very first special (the #0 issue), the interiors have been rather disappointing. Not horrible ... but not great either.
I honestly think that if Ross provided some interior work -- like he recently did with that JSA Kingdom special -- these things would be bigger hits. Given his love of the Golden/Silver Ages, you'd think he'd want to do more than covers.
I think they would sell more issues by making the Romita and Ross covers the 50/50.
I hate variants and usually never buy two copies of the same issue. But I would make an exception for Romita.
I think it's a combination of them not paying him as much as DC is willing to pay for interiors and also his really heavy work load.
Someone else at this board said that they're trying to make the interiors match the covers. I can kind of see that with the coloring, but it comes off as looking muddy and the pencils, scratchy.
They should go with a traditional superhero style for the interior pages. That's the only thing stopping me from buying all the Superpowers stuff.
