    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! NOOOO!!!!!!!

    Oh man is JSA messed up. Didio will likely hand it to Winick and ruin these characters .

    One man I'd nominate to take the book is Peter Tomasi. He wrote the JSA characters good in Nightwing. And he seems to understand building stories and delivering.

    Not only that but, according to Johns' statement, Tomasi has quite a history with the book.

    Really, though, this isn't any big surprise, is it? This is the second time he's left the book. Johns wants to write everything at DC, but he can't write everything all at the same time.

    I'm ready for a new JSA creative team myself. It's positive news for me.

    I dunno if its a surprise, exactly, but its a HUGE disappointment

    I wish I had some faith in DC editorial, that they'll place a quality team on one of their best books. But this is the same company that allowed Batman/Superman to spiral down the drain....

    I have mixed feelings about this news. On the one hand, I've been getting frustrated in recent months by the extreme decompression in JSA. I also feel that it would be better to cut this roster by half and give more attention to those characters that remain.

    On the other hand, JLA has been a trainwreck for years now, pretty much since Waid left the previous title. So I shudder at the possibility of equally bad issues of JSA.

    One thing that surprised me in that article from the link was the comment about Roy Thomas never reading this JSA series or the previous one. Thomas is well-known for his fondness for golden age heroes. Maybe he didn't like so many younger legacy heroes around?

    That hardly seems like enough time to end the story and properly explain the stuff he never explained (like Sand developing Sandman abilities).

    I was a bit surprised by that myself. However, Thomas is the one who wrote those characters for years and years (All-Star Squadron), and I know many (possibly most) writers stop reading books they've worked on once they leave. Nevertheless, I would have guessed that Thomas' extreme fondness for those characters might have made the difference in this case. I guess not.

    Maybe he didn't like so many younger legacy heroes around?
    I doubt that this would be the case. Thomas created the original Infinity, Inc., which was composed entirely of JSA legacy heroes.

    What Geoff Johns was writing:
    * Action Comics - leaving
    * Justice Society of America - leaving
    * co-writing Booster Gold - left
    * Green Lantern - staying

    So from this we can surmise that Geoff Johns is able to write 3-4 comics at once. I think his new line-up will consist of:
    * Green Lantern - confirmed
    * Superman: Secret Origins - confirmed
    * Flash: Rebirth - confirmed
    * Adventure Comics - speculative.
    Buy List
    Earth 2, World's Finest, Action Comics, Legion of Super-Heroes, Aquaman
    Young Avengers, FF, Fantastic Four, Scarlet Spider, X-Factor, Daredevil

    Ohh yeah ...I think though his Flash is basically a chance to show fans he's returning to the title that really made him though. I wish he could have stayed on Booster Gold , Action , JSA and did Flash. But the man is stretched as it is .

    I have a wish list of guys.... like Busiek , Tomasi and Giffen to write JSA. But I fear who Didio gets....

    Possibly....but remember in the mid 90's DC made it a practice to beat and stripmine these old heroes for a new age ? I'm sure by this point Roy Thomas basically said F DC.

    This is bad, bad news.

    Hopefully the replacement will be someone like James Robinson (my choice, but very unlikely), Palmiotti or Tomasi.

    Consider the quick slide that the DC team books take after the initial writer leaves, I am dropping JSA from my pool with #26. I don't have the money to "hope for the best" like I have in the past (see JLA on how to make a boring team book). Easier to assume it will be bad and then let word of mouth confirm if I need to buy the trade or not after the fact.

    I've been hearing bad things about Robinson's work with Superman recently. Also, I've been re-reading my Sandman trades (I have the first five) and am not as impressed as I was the first time around.

    The dream for me would be David Goyer, but I dont see that happening

    JMS would be sweet, Waid would also be good, so would Busiek. I could live with Tomasi. Other than that, I can't think of anyone else I'd like. Maybe Palmiotti.
