    Poor poor Ukita.

I've been rereading HSDK recently and I really feel bad for the guy.

I mean, he needs to get himself a master and start training like a nutter. I mean, even Thor and Freya managed to find a master to make them improve a lot.

Can't Ukita just train with Akisame for a while? Just so he can not... totally suck?

I would've cared more about Jenazad technique a lot more, if it wasn't so out of touch with reality. Most of the techniques have at least SOME basis in reality, but he just go "Screw it" and throws Kage Bunshi's to attack from all angles at once. It's stops being impressive and becomes just downright silly.

Eh, Mikumo was doing shit like that about 100 chapters ago.

Heck, Hayato was doing stuff like that when training Kenichi's Sekikun.

It's not without precedent, and it mostly serves to put Jenzard in the same absurd class as Mikumo and Hayato.

Everybody should've been expecting Jenazad to be utterly bonkers in his skills ever since Hayato mentioned that he had a hard time with the guy. And even with their abilities being blatantly super-human most of it is still based in real world martial arts.

Incidentally, does anybody else want to see a Jenazad vs. Mikumo fight? Their styles are so different that I think that it would be plenty memorable.

I just want to see Mikumo fight... don't care who it's with.

I find her ability to use 0% physical force interesting. Plus, I love speed type fighters.

Oh, man. I remember that bad translation where Mikumo was stated to be using speed clones against Sakaki and Shigure. They were actually ki illusions, but then she snatched Chikage without anybody noticing and I kind of thought that the improper translation might not have been so inaccurate.

Wasn't it foreshadowed in their very brief showdown that Mikumo and Shigure were likely to cross paths again someday?

I suspect that will be a very, very bad day for Shigure.

    Hm, well...

What if it's tenacity -and- a bit of technique/gamesmanship that wins the day?

I don't even know why I'm so annoyed by this new chapter.

I'm personally not really feeling anything for the fight at the moment. Which is a shame because it was so damn kickass for the most part.

Personally, I dig the chapter, and I'm fine with what just happened.

See... I quite like this chapter... but I think the message is a little off.

It wasn't Akira's tenacity that gave him the win here. It was the fact he basically chessmastered Jenzard into thinking that he was totally committed to this one single strategy and that there was a simple A or B response that would result in either victory or defeat. He banked on the notion that Jenazard would be so consumed with avoiding the same attack he would prepare for any kind of variation.

And so... he got outflanked and instead having choice between win or lose, he had a choice between.

    A) Choose the wrong arm and lose.

Or B) Choose the right arm but then have Akira bust out the punch/kick thing and stab him anyway.

Well played Akira to be honest. It was a risky gambit but it paid off completely.

    Akira Hongo: certified badass.

Seriously this was awesome chapter. I loved the way he freaked Jenzard out.

Tenacity for Martial Arts, oh hell yeah!

The whole "you should be dead" thing kinda irks me a bit.

Still, if Jenazard is going to lose...... this is probably the most believable way to do it. I like how he ultimately got outsmarted.

Hongo was clearly the inferior fighter and I like that he didn't just suddenly overpower Jenazard simply because he wanted to win that badly. It took incredible determination just to get to the point where he could out smart Jenazard.

I do like the fact that ultimately, Hongo needed to outsmart Jenazad to win (...if he's won. I'm kinda waiting to see)...but truth be told, I just don't care all that much about the master vs master fights. Gimme Kenichi and the Shinpaku Alliance any day.
