I would have went with the classic New Mutant team. OMFG The gossipgirl/Oc/X- men is going to be bland, bland, bland.

Eye In The Sky is going to be pleased about this news. The writers really shot themselves in the foot when they killed off Cyclops, seeing how he's a part of almost every big X-Men story that exists. I do like this idea, though, although how it'll work with the continuity of the other films (there can't be any Wolverine, can there? And Angel and Iceman are both much younger than Jean, Cyclops, Beast, in the movie franchise, so there'll be no 05) is anyone's guess.

Chuck is pretty good, though. Not exactly the kind of vibe I'd want for an X-Men movie, but it's a consistently enjoyable show.

I wonder if there's an outside chance that Fox would jump on the "Marvel Movieverse" bandwagon and let this be a reboot that ties it in? Even if it's in a small way.

A movie about young rich upper class mutants in a prestigious private school as seen from a mysterious mutant blogger ?

Since this is a movie and not the comics , they'll probably have young wolverine "I'm the best at what i do" , the rebel bad boy and his chick , jean and the outsider , young scott who jean falls for.

REBOOT. PUT IT IN THE MARVELVERSE!

Right now, in the Marvelverse, it seems as if mutants aren't really in the conciousness of the society. Start it from the beginning and have the world just becoming aware of mutants. Lets not jump on this whole mutant registration/cure thing for a couple movies!

This is what I wanted them to do for so long. I love the dynamic of the original 5. Iceman and Beast have a Johnny Storm/Thing relationship. Hopefully they write it well instead of mucking it up like FF.

I mentioned this over at Newsarama, but I think it bears mentioning even more over here: Rich Johnston mentioned someone who attempted to write a miniseries for Marvel, then got a job at Gossip Girl. I wonder if this is him.

Okay it could be good, but now that Marvel have got their act together with their own movie studio, i wonder what a new X-men film could be like if made by marvel for fans not by Fox to make as much money as possible and not giving a crap about comic fans :(

shame Marvel will probably never be able to afford to buy back the movie rights

    Won't be in continuity.
