Spidey Super Stories...ah fond memories of the local childrens' library. Thanks, Mr. Romita, you did foster a generation of readers.![]()
Spidey Super Stories was my "gateway drug" into superhero comics, from reading Archie/Richie Rich/Dennis the Menace comics. Awesome, awesome stuff.
A couple of years back I bought an assorted lot of worn SSS on eBay, and I had a BLAST re-reading these comics! Lots of fun and absurdity. In one issue, Thanos was caught *robbing a bank* in broad daylight by Spidey!!! I was like wtf (while LMAO).![]()
maybe the next issue had Galactus pulling a carjacking?!?![]()
I like how they're called "survivors of the Marvel bullpen" as if the Bullpen is like Murderworld or something.
That news brought back some memories...
The first Spidey episodes I've read were pencilled by John Romita Sr and to me they remain the matrix for Spidey and Peter Parker's look.
And my first FF episodes were inked by Joe Sinnott.
Ah, those were the days, my friend...
