    Default Galactus vs. Doctor Manhattan

The devourer of worlds goes head to head with the most powerful being in the 'Watchman' universe.
Doctor Manhattan believes that there should only be one god-like entity, and so challenges the almighty Galactus. Who wins?

Eh its kinda hard to say, but Galactus would probably do it based on feats alone. While Manhatten is a godlike character, the most he's had to deal with was Tachyon particles from an exceedingly smart human, whereas Galactus can destroy a galaxy spanning fleet on the last dregs of his power, transform creatures into godlike beings, and has a remarkable intellect on the side. Galactus will probably take this, if he can isolate Manhatten's intellect, which shouldn't be too hard.

I don't believe Dr. Manhatten has feats or even implied abilities that put him even remotely on the Galactus level. Yes Manhatten was incredibly powerful by the standards of his reality but curbstomp win for Galactus.

Well, he did turn 100 feet tall, can make his own race of beings, and anything he wishes is automatically done.

Quite apart from the last one being a no-limits fallacy...

I'm not seeing how any of that is remotely impressive to Galactus.

Yup. It's not like IT WAS STATED or anything.

    ...Sorry did miss a memo?

Does the board now take statements as gospel rather than looking at feats?

    Oh wait, no it doesn't.

So what feats do you have to support that Dr Manhatten can:

    A) Effect a being on Galactus' level?
    B) Assuming that somehow he can perform A, that Galactus can't just overcome pretty much anything he does?
    C) That Manhatten can make anything he wishes "Automatically be done,"?

Honestly, the Silver Surfer vs. Doctor Manhattan might be a better fight.

Not really as manhatten can't handle SS speed.

So? It is still a fallacy since it is unproven.

Galactus, in terms of the sheer amount of power he can out put (his latest feat being the destruction on galactic scale of the Galactus Wave in Annihilation of entire STARS and their systems) and damage he can take.

The Surfer would be a better fight for Manhattan.

At this moment, I'm just finishing up Watchmen for the zillionth time. Love it--but I did miss the chapter, Toku, where Manhattan creates a race of beings. He does use the Martian soil to create structures, walks through time, surrounds Laurie with a sustaining atmosphere and transports, but race-creating isn't part of his power pack. He does pull himself back together, but nothing says he can...ahh, you get my point.

I do confess that perhaps in his untold tales (certainly John Byrne is writing these now, right?) Manhattan may become an uber being beyond all compare. But as Cyto said, based on witnessed feats, Galatacus wouldn't even bother with him.

Nobody's mentioned Dr. Manhattan's view of time or his fatalism?
