im getting the notion its either namor starting by invading manhattan, or mags playing with the earth's eco system, but are completely acceptable to me..

Read the first page and thought the dialog was actually pretty decent (had a kind of Bendis-y vibe) but by the 2nd page it went right out the window, ugh.

the art is astonishing though ~ the level of detail is truly jaw-dropping, but between Loeb an $3.99 an issue i'll just read reviews and hope this doesn't mess USM up to much...

Finch is fantastic. Might pick this up in trade. Doesn't this spoil the ending of Ultimate Spider-Man's current arc though? Gwen-Carnage?

Started so well and then we have very forced, very laboured Thor and Valkyrie sex jokes.

I of course wish to reserve judgement until we see the finished thing but sometimes when your stepping over a cliff you instinctively know how its going to turn out...

I didn't see any problem with the dialogue, in fact I even like the Thor/Valkyrie scene(s). As I've said before, Valkyrie is fast becoming a favourite character of mine and I'm glad she still makes sexual references, that was what she was like before she had powers so why sould she be any different now?

Wouldn't it be funny if Gwen dies at the end of the current USM arc. After Ultimates 3 it wouldn't be suprising.

Looks good. Nice to see everything coming together.

I just hope the post Ultimatum Ultimate Universe isn't craptastic like Wildstorm's.

I already don't like that. How are they going to continue USM the same way as before ultimatum when Peters city is totally destroyed? Unless the city is magiclly rebuild in 1 or 2 days without explanation.

David Finch really is the Ultimate artist. This looks great.

But man, is Loeb's dialogue atrocious. And when Ultimate Tony Stark starts giving Captain America morality lessons while having a martini and you have Thor sharing sex jokes, you know there's a problem there...

And what a way to spoil Ultimate Spider-Man. It's a pleasant surprise, though.
