Poor Warren. Even by silver age standards that's pretty flaming ridiculous. If Kitty and Jean colaborated he'd probably steal Beast's time machine and send himself back.

Warren is far too stupid to operate any kind of machinery. I think the problem with a lot of the costumes they use for the O5 and NM is that they were pretty much thrown out there to add some color and deviate from the team uniform look, but they didn't really incorporate any of the themes or motifs of the character themselves. This is probably because those characters didn't actually have terribly well-defined visual cues to begin with, or were unsuitable. You wouldn't want Angel running around with a white robe and halo, for example.

I kind of want to see the Shadowcat costume make a comeback, probably because it's the only one I can think of that has any sort of "cat" look to it, probably because Catwoman had a similar outfit in the 70s.

I think we'll have more to talk about when the next ANX issue comes out. It looks like Kitty is really going to step up into her self-appointed role as the 05's...guardian? Mentor? I'm not sure exactly.

The thing about Kitty's costumes is they should probably be pretty basic. Someone with her power and skill set needs freedom to move quickly in case she gets in a fight. Possible a spot or two to hold hidden weapons or gadgets too. I kind of like her other classic costume as it's shown in Avengers' Alliance. Lose the mask and maybe add a few more personal features?

She did wear a Star of David necklace for a little while when she rejoined the X-Men. It was a gift from Nightcrawler.

Incidentally, since we know Bendis likes writing Jewish characters, do you think he'll mention her faith at some point? It seems like unless religion is seriously part of a character's make up stuff like that doesn't get mentioned anymore.

Yes, a necklace is perfect. She also wore one constantly during the Bendis/Immonen USM run.

Is Kitty being a racist still a thing around these forums? I loved those old threads/posts highlighting select panels about how horrible she was.

I do love Kitty though, unashamedly. She's sensational.
