I don't think I could buy that, I really can't stand Gail Simone's work..even if it would be a Kitty solo.

I love her work and she is having problems with DC. I think that a Shadowcat book would never happen but I also thought Sif would never get a book.

Sif got a book because she's a Thor derivative. Kitty isn't a derivative of anyone (though they tried making her Wolverine-lite on multiple occasions).

I forgot Brian Wood. Urgh! Minis don't seem to be very popular at the moment. It's a shame. (I know Jimmy is getting one, but a Wolverine mini hardly counts towards/against a trend).

Even Claremont of all people tried that in his Forever series. Kitty getting one of Logan's claws (and ONLY one) was one of the most WTF things I'd seen in comics that year.

I forget the specifics but in Forever I think just having the claw attached to her was making her more feral and she was struggling with liking that. (Only in comics).

I love Claremont but even he isn't immune from laying some real stinkers.

I actually think Brian Bendis would do good with the character, too. Although Peter David would be perfectly fine in the plotting department, his tone is a tad too snarky for Kitty, who always struck me as someone who falls more on the "earnest" side of things, with only a side-dish of snark. Bendis does "earnest" better.

And it sucked every time. At least Claremont rebounded well with Mekanix. Though the straitened hair and the edgy leather sucked. /unpopular opinion

I just refer to it as her rebellious college phase.

And Kitty always needs trace amounts of snark but should be unapologetically blunt first.

I liked that Kieron Gillen broke up Colossus and Kitty, I'd give him a shot at the best Marvel character.
