Default CBR: Obama: "I Was Born On Krypton"

U.S. Presidential candidate Barack Obama continued to court the "geek vote" at a
charity function in New York City last night, saying he was born on Krypton and
sent by his father, Jor-El, to "save the planet Earth."

So the Messiah is using Superman themes now? Isn't it usually the other way around?

Well this CBR article is a shining example of reporting bias.

Is CBR actually endorsing Obama or is this just what passes for actual reporting on this website? Such an obviously biased article should not be under the heading of “CBR News.” And I don’t even like John McCain; I’m just a fan of professionalism in journalism.

wait, did CBR comment when Palin said she was Wonder Woman, if so it's fair game.

even if wonder woman didn't think so(Lynda Carter or Gail Simone...take your pick)

I'm sure that if McCain mentioned a superhero as well, CBR would be reporting on it. Not that they need to be impartial.

    Did you read the article?

I have no issue with them highlighting Obama's joke that he is not Jesus but Superman. If that was all the reporter did then I would have not typed a word.

However, he wrote the following to end his article:

"Beleaguered Republican candidate Senator John McCain may have been appealing to right-leaning geek constituents by spending the evening sitting next to Cardinal Edward M. Egan, head of the Archdiocese of New York, whose bright red robes invoked memories of the Imperial Guard of legendary “Star Wars” villain Emperor Palpatine, who McCain is said to resemble strongly. "
How exactly does the writer likening Senator McCain to Emperor Palpatine constitute news or pass as reporting?

Are you saying he doesn't look like palpatine?

Not nearly as much as Joe Liberman or Pope Benedict do.

These boards are very left leaning. And the comics world itself seems to be that way too; lots of creators out there endorsing him through their art.

Oh I know, and that is primarily why I very rarely post here anymore. Not that any of the people are sad to see a "wacky" dude go.

The comparison has some humorous value and If the paragraph was worded a hair better it would have had some more. I just found it unprofessional in a "news" piece. Heck, I had one friend laugh that it was even there.
