Default CBR: Slot: Spider-Man Is Greatest Job In The World

With his top-selling "New Ways To Die" storyline concluding this week, writer Dan
Slott tells CBR what he loves so much about working on Marvel's "Amazing
Spider-Man," and why it's the hardest he's ever worked.

Awesome. Cannot agree more with Slott that ASM has really been rolling lately after a hit-and-miss first few months of BND. I am also very much looking forward to what is lined up for rest of the year, even the Flash Thompson one-and-done issue which I was initially not excited over but I have heard more and more rumblings that it is going to be a great tale.

Slott's Spider-Man is simply the best Spider-Man I have read in over a decade. If we had to put-up with four issues of Peter Parker making a silly decision to get to this point, then it was worth it. This re-ordering of the Spider-Man universe is one of the best decisions Marvel has made in a long time.

I couldn't agree more. The currant Amazing issues are some of the best Spider-man stories printed in my lifetime. The book feels like classic spidey again, and Slott has a lot to do with that awesomeness. The whole Spider-team, writers editors, artists, letterers, colorists...everyone involved, are doing a fantastic job on the book.

I look forward to picking up issues for the foreseeable future.

I love Slott's enthusiasm. The man probably hasn't gone a day in his life without Spidey on the brain. I loved NWTD and thought it was solid all the way through. I'm staying out of that review thread though, that anti-BND element is getting on my nerves.

Probably my favorite writer currently in comics, just about everything he's ever written have been an absolute joy to read.

Listening to Dan talk about being a Hulk fan really makes me wish he could work more than two titles at a time, he would be a godsend on that book (Hulk) right now or succeeding Loeb after his run.

I said it before but if theres anyone that could do the retarded version of the Green Hulk justice, it would be Dan Slott.

Personally, I would love to see Dan's take on Captain Marvel.

And whoever hasn't read Arkham Asylum: Living Hell really should. Fantastic mini.

I'm curious, did Dan approach Steve Wacker that he wanted to write ASM or was it the other way around? It seems that Dan's been in love with the character since the 60's, I'm glad that Marvel's given him the chance to write his favourite hero.

Loved NWTD. Can't wait until Dan's turn comes up again on Amazing...

If I remember correctly, Dan was the one that was approached.

Hardest to work on? Hmm...probably due to having such a thin amount of deapth to the whole thing.

Most overrated run ever (next to to post-Romita Jr JMS) . I don't blame Slott though, he's stuck with what he has to work with. He's going to be dynamite on Mighty Avengers
