It's been a heated topic, but at least Marvel are still trying to find a home for it. They love the character and have acknowledged it's success. This is more a bleeding economy problem than anything to do with the quality.
Spider-Girl is canceled. There is no justice.

if it survives in anthology form, that's good enough for me
I may not understand the Ecomony and stuff, but when it messes up something like Spider-girl I will get involved.![]()
damn.
I wonder if this means DeFalco will go back to doing main continuity stories? I miss the days when he was in charge
I always felt "Araa" had great potentual too. Sadly that series was killed pretty quick...![]()
PULLS: Morning Glories . X-23 . Kick-Ass/Hit-Girl . Ultimate Spidy . Runaways . Usagi Yojimbo
Plenty of other series don't get even one second chance, while Spider-Girl got like a dozen.
Tom's getting his Spider-Man fix again with "Mr and Mrs Spider-Man", but hearing that that particular strip could be scrapped really would be a sour kick in the balls for him.
He's seen by most as the "Simon Furman" of the Spider-Man Marraige, and the last custodian of the 90s era of Marvel, and he seems perfectly happy writing and crafting MC2 titles. I hope he does another "Last Hero/Planet Standing" mini-series, the second one was badass.
After hearing so much positive word-of-mouth online about Spider-girl, I decided to try it out. I came up on late to SG w/volume 1 (#80s), catching up through the mini digests/tpbs, then in the singles.
I loved the beginning of the run, especially the great supporting cast/high school drama (like the Spidey of yore), but the title lost that feel and became constant super-heroics/little to no character development/zero supporting cast by the end of vol 1. Didn't really like it too much by that point, but gave vol 2 a try.
More of the same ol' same ol', dropped it w/#8.
I won't say I'll miss it (I recently unloaded my entire run on eBay), but I feel bad for all the uber-fans of it out there...
