CBR: The Ultimate Price: New "Ultimatum" Teaser

Marvel Comics released Friday a new teaser image in advance of "Ultimatum,"
the forthcoming event miniseries by Jeph Loeb and David Finch, beginning in
November. The graphic depicts Magneto in possession of Thor's hammer.

Haven't read Ultimates 3 (cause, hey, it looked like it stunk), but, isn't that the 616 Thor's hammer in the picture? I thought Ultimate Thor's hammer was all battle-axe on the end and mallet head on the other? Like I said, he might of changed it in Ultimates 3, which I haven't read. Or is that one big editorial mistake?

Thor had a whole armory of weapons that Odin granted him as a gift.

Including a more classic version of his hammer.

I think there's more to it than just 'Magneto is ANGRY!!! RARGH!!!', considering some of the build-up has dealt with the true origins of mutantkind and the use of mutant DNA as a drug. I get the impression this is going to be the 'genetic war' Fury's been harping on about since the start of the series. Of course, they got rid of Fury (major mistake) so how much pathos it will actually have remains to be seen.

This is why I've yet to get excited about Ultimatum. It just seems like Magneto doing the same old routine. What happened to his kids does make things a bit different, but still. All I'm hoping for is a decent story at least, and in particular, a better written Magneto (so far, Loeb's Magneto is by far the worst in Ultimate history).

As for that teaser, it's much better than the previous one with Magneto crushing the earth. I don't like some of the tweaks Dave Finch has made to his outfit though (the 616 arm wear, and what appears to be red boots???). Stuart Immonen's design in USM, which was also used on the cover of Ultimate Origins #3 was better.

I know it won't be to much like past stories (at least I hope), but it just doesn't seem that interesting or unique at the moment. I mean, Doom is shown as pulling the strings at the end of Ultimates 3 but we haven't seen or heard squat about him yet.
Oh, and personal, I liked the look of Magneto in Ultimate War. I'd like to see that used in the future.

Well the image is cool, I just the series itself is okay. I hope the fact that Magneto has Thor's hammer doesn't mean Thor dies.

I liked Bachalos Magneto in ultimate war....that guy looked scary and batsh!t crazy to boot

the thing about god and the flood was really creppy I jusst wish it was written by someone else..
