It all sounds terrific. I am very happy with the direction of the Superbooks, especially Action Comics. Supergirl still needs a lot of work but the announced plans for the book have me optimistic.

From Mon El to Creature Commandos to Captain Atom and the Guardian, I am psyched for the next year of Superman titles.

My one pet peeve is Steel. It's kind of a bland name. And his costume (in the comics) is craptastic. The Steel in the JLU cartoon looks much nicer and Commander Steel/Citizen Steel are much better names. Maybe the character can get a revamp?

well after all his facetime in 52 I doubt they'll revamp the character anytime soon.

It all sounds like new takes on ideas I've seen before- but considering that Superman is a 70-year-old franchise, it can't be helped. And I don't mind, as long as these takes are well told. With the likes of Robinson and Johns along, they certainly have the talent.

The one thing that would REALLY bring me to buy those comics, however, is if I see that it really starts dealing with the current darkness in the DC Universe. (Salvation Run can be seen as an attempt to do just that- unfortunately it was a hugely retarded one. "Let's just dump all of our villains together on an infernal alien planet!" Yeah, THAT won't make them any more vile! ) I swear, if there's a single scene where a New Kryptonian tears somebody to pieces, I'm not touching the whole thing. I've had enough of that.
