Black people come in light skinned colors now?!!!

He's darker than other characters and obviously still black, don't get me wrong. But I never noticed/forgotten how light skinned he was. I did a doubt take when I first saw him on the screen, thinking there was something wrong with my television.

LOL! That's funny. This thread was the first time I've heard this idea that Blade wasn't black in the Spidey series. I even looked at wiki and saw someone decided to falsely put that up.

If Blade isn't black then somebody forgot to tell Wesly Snipes. I must admit tho' that Blade was very light in the Spidey series but he was always dark-skinned in the books. I knew television made you look heavier but 3 shades lighter as well? Is everyone on television black then?

Although lighter, he was still a black man and you can see it. Look at his tone compared to the other characters. He was more in league with a similar tone to Terri Lee. I think people are just trying to find things in this. Also, voice wise he sounded like a black man! And his mother was also black in the flashbacks. When she got turned into a vampire, her skin was lighter due to vampires being dead and pale.

New issue of MI:13 came out today. What's the verdict?

I think he kicked ass. It's going to be really interesting to see how he fits in long term. It's the perfect place for him, fighting demons and other nasties.

Plus, of course, Spitfire in many ways has a lot in common with Blade. She too is kind of a different breed of vampire. I think he'd probably stick around just to keep tabs on her, seeing her as a genuine threat.

Loved seeing the two of them fight.

Hmm, I think I'll just give in and buy this book. Only Marvel book I'm reading is X-Factor but the great reviews for this book along with Blade appearing is tempting me so!

If you're a big Blade fan it'd be worth your while. This is where he's going to be for the foreseeable future, and Cornell has stated an intention to bring back a number of elements of the character which kind of got lost in the 90s. Think of this as a modern Blade, but embracing elements of the Tomb of Dracula years also.

I agree CB&MI:13 is phenomenal and Blade is constantly impressive. Every one of his lines is pure gold and he has a brilliant fight with Spitfire.

Blade needs to get written like a Londoner again.

Looks awesome. Big Blade fan here. I guess due to the films and attempted TV series, and the uniqueness of the character for some reason I always picture him in his own seperate universe, but I am a huge fan. Movie-wise, Blade III sucked, I & II rocked, but then again how bad can a Blade movie really be? It was their weak interpretation of Dracula that deeply, deeply bothered me.

I'd have been happier with a CGI amalgamtion with footage of Bela Lugosi's head...actually...come to think of it....with technology getting better....hmmmm.... ;)

Gosh, I hated part 3. For me the first one was the best. 2 was okay. Wasn't bad or great, but still have some damn fun moments to make you re-watch the movie.

I always thought HBO should have done a Blade series animated, though. That woulda been damn awesome!
