Thanks for the info. This just made me think of a couple of points.
1. They might be trying to turn Jubilee into a stereotypical Asian character who knows martial arts, which is why they had Raizo take here under his wing.
2. This also seems like a classic case of "If you're black, get back. If you're brown, stick around. If you're white, you're all right". In this case, black (or half black) is Blade and brown (or light brown) is Raizo.
This is just how ridiculous it is not to have Blade doing things. Really, Blade can't join the Secret Avengers or Defenders or something? wtf.The same year Toy Biz bought Marvel, New Line Cinema released "Blade," the Wesley Snipes vampire action film based on the third-tier "Tomb of Dracula" character created by Marv Wolfman and Gene Colan. The movie grossed $133 million worldwide -- Marvel's cut amounted to just $25,000 -- and proved to be a watershed event not just for Arad and the company but also for the film and comics industries, reigniting Hollywood's passion for superheroes. The success of "Blade" also paved the way for other deals that, while lucrative to the studios involved, didn't amount to major paydays for Marvel. (For instance, according to a Lehman Brothers analysis, Fox's first three "X-Men" movies grossed a combined $2 billion worldwide, but Marvel's share of the box office was a relatively paltry $25 million.)
and if they do something like merge the Ult verse an 616...which Blade would you guys want?
Ultimate Blade fore sure. He's shown to have hypnotic powers and the ability to heal a point blank shot to the dome in moments.
Raizo's barely appeared in anything. Lets not exaggerate here. He was in a random Fear Itself tie in, which most people ignored like all the other tie ins.
Raizo just comes off as a random vamp at the moment. He really doesn't warrant being in discussion with Blade, Buffy Vamps, True Blood.....or heck Twilight vamps at this point.

I'd also give Blade a supporting cast. Someone equivalent to Whistler, who could fill that roll, not Nolan Van Helsing thats too cliche and although Jamal Afari is alive now I guess, I prefer to block out that run and still think of him as being dead. So I'd prefer someone else. Ideally someone human, or simply non-vampire. Who can help with Gear outfitting and coordinating stuff when and if Blade needs to work with other people or intel.
Also I'd like if Marvel actually did more with vampire lore, and move away from Dracula a little.
I've had some interesting ideas on how to improve on marvel vampire lore for a while now.

To be honest, if it ain't Morbius or Hannibal King or Spitfire, then I don't think Blade should be associating with any other vampire. It's just not in him to work well with others. Besides, Jubilee has to eat something and I think I've read that Blade, being a pseudo vampire like Morbius, gets sick eating animal blood. It wouldn't be fair to the guy to have Jubilee eating a lovely steak dinner and him watching while he sips at the blood of some guy.
To be fair, it takes a really, really good writer to nail Blade. Plus, he needs a very, very special team to be a part of. Not just any will do. I don't want another half-assed series, I want something good.
Yeah, the problem is the way Blade would "help" Jubilee cope with her vampire urges wouldn't exactly win over too many X-Men.
Ultimately Blade is a vampire hunter... he kills vampires. It's almost hypocrtiical for him to go out of his way to rehabilitate some and kill the rest. That's not to say he hasn't shown that double standard before (such as with King or Spitfire), but it's probably not something you want done too often. You're better off finding a different vamp to go around rehabilitating "good" vamps... Blade is the one that I think needs to be more of a Punisher than a Steve Rogers.
Really. It takes a really good writer to write Blade like he was in the movies? I don't know...I see the same excuse for certain characters. Blade can do his Vampire hunting in his own book and when he's a team book...he would act as a Wolverine of sorts...you can always come up with a reason why he is doing this. It's comics...you have green monsters.."Gods" that fly around by swing a hammer...and all other sort of isht. lol
...I wish I could write Blade.. I'll have to make it happen someday..
I still think there's a chance for him to have a cameo in a future Marvel film, to re-introduce him.. hmm..
