Well, Nico Robin tried to not betray those around her, working hard and doing odd jobs for room and board, just trying to survive without a home, family, or friends.
But every time she believed she found something good, those people ended up betraying her to the World Government for the money. After a while, she stopped trying and just began working for scum and betraying them before they eventually did the same.
But the moment she found those who actually cared for her and wouldn't betray her (Luffy and crew), she was willing to die to keep them safe.
Sasuke, on the other hand, had people who cared for him and bent over backwards to help him to the point of ignoring other students (Kakashi) or breaking the rules to give him what he wanted (Sarutobi).
He even had people who cared for him like Luffy did for Robin (Team Seven, Ino, etc). But unlike her, he betrayed them all, even trying to kill Naruto, the person he claimed was his best friend, and running off to Orochimaru for the sake of vengeance.
He even said he didn't care if Orochimaru stole his body as long as Itachi died. He was basically willing to hand over Orochimaru the means to destroy Konoha, murder everyone who cared for him, and cause death and destruction around him.

Okay.
Getting warmer. But the moment she found those who actually cared for her and wouldn't betray her (Luffy and crew), she was willing to die to keep them safe.
Cold, Sasuke having people care about means shit in his current situation. Sasuke had no clan let alone family, his brother was still alive and was terrorizing countries for Bijuu, the village didn't support him with the nesassary resources to get his revenge and everytime Naruto did something, Sasuke developed an infierority complex knowing he can't afford to be left behind as he deidicated his life to reach Itachi's standards which he can't afford to lose.Sasuke, on the other hand, had people who cared for him and bent over backwards to help him to the point of ignoring other students (Kakashi) or breaking the rules to give him what he wanted (Sarutobi).
Naruto and Sakura wanted Sasuke to please them for themselves, none of which gave a damn about his revenge which he soley wanted. Sasuke severed his bonds, he choose to cut his bonds towards Naruto because he knows Naruto is his greatest obstacle in life and he can't afford that in his plate while getting back at his brother. Don't bring Ino into this. She wants Sasuke because he's a hunk. Her involvement with Sasuke is shallow. He even had people who cared for him like Luffy did for Robin (Team Seven, Ino, etc). But unlike her, he betrayed them all, even trying to kill Naruto, the person he claimed was his best friend, and running off to Orochimaru for the sake of vengeance.
And guess what, he took out Oro. Meaning he was bluffing, Sasuke is known to lie and talk trash to achieve his ends and goals. So far, no one knows Sasuke is in akatsuki, and if my theory is correct Tsunade will still not take action on Sasuke because of a certain blonde and pink haired duo.He even said he didn't care if Orochimaru stole his body as long as Itachi died. He was basically willing to hand over Orochimaru the means to destroy Konoha, murder everyone who cared for him, and cause death and destruction around him.
Yeah, because we all know nothing builds character like deeply traumatic childhood experiences.![]()
Good point. Sasuke is kind of at a crossroads now, anyway. I think we need to wait and see where he ends up.
Classic separation anxiety case.
Actually, Robin didn't really handle it that much better then Sasuke, I think. They just kinda went in opposite directions. Sasuke became obsessed by revenge, while Robin kind of gave in and started believing the BS the Wold Goverment told her about her life being a sin and a curse.
In the end, they both ended up adopting the exact mindset their tormentors wanted them to; they were both equally broken, in their own way.

Going with Robin, you can't really say who suffered more through their respective slaughters. But leading up to the tragedies Robin had the worse life, throw in some talking mice and she's cinderella, actually that might be understating it, I don't remember everyone in town hating Cinderella.
Then in the years that followed their respective Robin was hounded, hunted and betrayed at every single turn, Sasuke while still determined to take revenge on his brother at least had a period where things where things weren't that bad. In fact before Itachi showed up Sasuke was actually lightening up a bit. He might have brooded a bit during that period, I wouldn't come close to saying he was suffering in any way.
As for who handled it better, I agree at Sasuke's age I doubt Robin was much better morally, though you can say her's was the only way to survive, while a lot of Sasuke's decisions were self inflicted.
