Default CBR: Denny O'Neil Returns to Gotham City

    Living legend Dennis O'Neil writes a two-issue, post-“Batman R.I.P” story in
December's “Detective Comics” #851 and “Batman“ #684, and talks to CBR about
the project, what he's been up to, and his review of "The Dark Knight."

It seems quite odd to have Denny O'Neil involved in this story arc, that is seemingly set to change Batman drastically, possibly putting a different person underneath the cowl.

This is, after all, the same man who said he believes those writing and editing Batman and Superman comics are 'guardians of folklore', after the public response to the killing of Jason Todd's Robin.

Still, it should hopefully be a good read. I'm actually looking forward to O'Neil, Gaiman and Kevin Smith's stories more than I am the resolution of RIP.

Denny O'Neil has been hugely influential in changing the direction of Batman before though. And having deep respect for the material and its fans doesn't mean he should want the comics to stay boring shallow and frozen. his involvement in this is so perfect.
