Yeah the problem is that Knox isn't powerful if you meet him the first time and you don't know his power or what he has done previously because he feed on your fear of him

Although I like how they show his power and how he look pretty good at killing people and hard to beat if his power trigger, but yeah he can't seem to coin a sentence without putting the word fear in it, he need a moment like when Sylar went to the Bennett home showing both cleverness and evilness
Has to remember his suggestion for the traitor game

My only guess as to the long-term explanation of this is that the artificial powers start getting wonky over time but not the inherited ones.
Yeah, honestly Parkman's character seems to be the only one that's actually growing and developing realistically (which is likely a big reason for why he's coming across as such a standout this season) while not turning into a jerk or losing what made him who he was to begin with (IE a core of decency). Hiro has been reset to "idiot man-child" after not one, but two trials that seemed designed specificially to "mature" him. Peter's always just been kinda dense, they don't seem to know what to do with Nathan, and Claire...well, OK, I can buy Claire's situation too...she's a teenager, they're often moody and tend to over-dramatize things, but that doesn't make it any easier to watch.

I think Parkman is just too schlubby. Plus his scenes with Daphne are incredibly forced and awkward.

    finally just watched it:

    1. the nightmare man isn't dead. just after matt did his thing, he said, "Yeah, my dad could do that." hmm......
    2. it did seem obvious that sylar saved peter. but i wonder if it wasn't peter himself. remember that his powers used to only work in emergencies? what if he still has them, but they are muted or repressed or something along those lines. that feeds into the peter being the savior type.
    3. what is flyboy nathan going to do agains uber dad?
    4. guess we know where sylar gets his powers back.....thanks for the brain daddy!! lol
    5. knox is a kewl support character. everyone always has fear. but to have him try to use is like a lie detector? not so much..."She's lying. She's afraid." Umm...she was just facing 3 uber villains, she should be afraid. stick to the muscle, knox ol'boy.
    6. i'm ready for hrg to be a baddass again. lately he is just playing clean up. these villians used to be afraid of him. he knows their weaknesses or how to find it...

    just some thoughts.......

I think Bennett is going to end up planning the attack on Arthur. Angela is going to go to her best agent and that is Bennett. He just has to assemble his team.

I just read the summary and response to EW's Heroes criticism. Yes, the show needs serious work done to put it on a good path as, right now, everything is falling apart and becoming sillier than the regular superhero books (in which silliness is more acceptable.)

I definitely agree that some characters need to die or be spun off. As much as I'd love a Hiro & Ando show, I think it might hurt the overall program to lose them. A better bet might be a show focusing on Sylar rehabilitating himself (like Angel?) or a Parkman show (although it's already been beaten by The Mentalist.)

Really, the show needs to unite more heroes if it wants to keep it's huge cast. While I'm sure this is coming, possibly in the next few episodes, Heroes is long overdue for it's own version of X-Men or the JLA. The powered people can't just come together for one moment. They need to exchange numbers or, better yet, move in together to fight the enemy or do what they can. I'd really like to see the good characters move their own plots by finding something to do with their powers other than prevent calamity in the future.

While I'm thinking about it, the whole time travel/pre-cog thing needs to go ASAP. It has been done to death and it turns me off, personally.

Another thing I'd like to see are more heroes that don't have powers. How about someone who everyone thinks has powers but is really just very, very good at what he does? We're close with Noah/HRG and, until his sad Spider-Man/Hulk tangent, Mohinder was good with this. (Personally, I hate Mohinder and think he should die or get sent away very soon.)

And, while I'm complaining, I really want and need a more positive African-American male character on the show. No, the African dude and The Hatian do NOT count. This is just me whining but I don't like it that we have two American-born black characters who are criminals. I really don't like it that one was murdered between seasons so unceremoniously. Along with this, we need more screen time for Micah and Monica. They got a bland storyline last year but both are fun to watch and would play well with Hiro and Ando.

BADunn, you just reminded me that I'm still kinda pissed they killed off DL. I thought it would have been more interesting to kill off Larter's character and have DL protecting Micah.

Agreed on people without powers. Ando and HRG play pretty necessary roles in that. They don't need powers to be a positive influence around them (or negative, for that matter).

Time travel getting lame, time manipulation to kick ass in the present or teleport, that's okay.

Teams seem reasonable. They're probably working toward that this season.

    Question

Is anybody hoping for a major character culling in "War" ?

    I am!

I'd like to see Mohinder go, or at least get depowered. Maybe if his powers go, his tool-ness will go with it.

I want Maya, Mama Petrelli, and Elle gone. Everyone else I can think of is either a major player or people I like (Parkman, Nathan, etc.)

Same here. I get the feeling that was Loeb's idea. With him gone, maybe it'll get reversed somehow.

Can't agree with you here, though. I like all those people myself. I just wish Mama Petrelli had a "cooler" power. Though at least now I can understand why she's neurotically evil. I'd like Maya's powers back, though, and for her to somehow be a major player. Eh, I just like the actress, so I'm biased.

Just kill everyone but Hiro, Ando, Claire, Peter, Sylar, HRG, Matt, Daphne, & Mrs. Petrelli and I'd be happy.

A few "done-in-one" episodes would be cool again (like "Company Man").

Nate, you know you CAN watch the actress in other things. :) I can only just tolerate Maya now that they've done something with her besides the "she cries you die" gimmick.
