Every Time I tried to get into Ms. Marvel, Brian Reed always done something else which makes me reconsider my decison.

I think Reed means well, but he's all over the place with this character and the stories.

One area that could stand improvement is the supporting cast. I know that Carol know longer has a civilian job, but she needs to interact with regular people occasionally. Too many C-list super-heroes and SHIELD agents in this series for my liking. It would be nice to see the Danvers again.

The crossover stories have been the most interesting -- Civil War and Secret Invasion. Most of the other stuff just missed the mark with me. That said, I want to see this series succeed. Hopefully we'll get there.

Say what you want, but I feel like Reed wrote Spider-Man in a way the so called "Brain Trust" hasn't been able to since BND started. In these few pages I enjoyed the character in a way I haven't since last year sometime. For that alone, I'm getting the Ms. Marvel Annual. I can't really get into Ms. Marvel, but it'd be nice to see the interplay between the two. But man... Robinson's pencils are hurting my eyes. It's like he didn't even care with this book.

I agree that SHIELD agents & other super heroes--aside from Simon Willians, Wonder Man--make for a poor supporting cast. Carol Danvers NEEDS to have have her real name a secret, a civilian job, & cut out all of this other crap. I would like to see Carol attempt to re-connect with her family & her roots only to discover she can't since Rogue stole her powers & her life in Avengers Annual #10.

This whole "best of the best" is just utter nonsense for a theme in Ms. Marvel; it's a non-starter given Carol is no rookie super hero. I can't stand Ms. Marvel being Iron Man's lackey either.

Just nothing there that really interest me. I glanced at the annual today, but it was mostly page after page of Carol being Tony's enforcer and nothing turns me off of the character more than that. But it's nice that he is enjoying himself. I'm not so sure that Carol wants to me the world a better place as much as she wants to increase her own fame by bringing in as many anti-sra types as she can.

    Awesome cover for #31.

Reed's amusing, so he can write a funny Spidey. Isn't quite blowing my mind, though. Do like the art.

Just got this because of Spider-Man. Great issue. Never thought there would be any chemistry between Ms. Marvel and Spider-Man, but wow! And boy can Robinson draw action Spidey. They should get him for Brand New Day. Great read.

Not yet loving the new artist. The #31 cover IS cool, though.

Carol's espionage past has long been established by Chris Claremont; you can see Carol Danvers in action, of all places, in Uncanny X-Men #235-238 when Carol takes control of Rogue's body. Carol & Wolverine infiltrate the Genoshan Magistrates for quite some time to get to the reality of the Genoshan slave mutate system. Carol also takes control of Rogue's body in Uncanny X-Men #182 when she rescues Michael Rossi from being killed by Hellfire Club double agents--working for Black King, Sebastian Shaw--posing as SHIELD agents.

I'm not sure any character in all the MU has had more jobs than Carol Danvers now that I think about it. She worked for the air force, NASA, a womans magazine owned by Jameson, Homeland security, and was even a space pirate for a bit.

She must have the coolest looking job resume in all of comics.

Things weren't all guns and roses for dear Carol. First she was demoted, then she resigned under a cloud from her NASA security job for her lack of success in capturing Captain Mar-vel. (Ms.Marvel vol I, #1). She got fired from job at Woman magazine because she was neglecting her editorial responsibilities to play superhero!(MM vol I # 22). She resigned under a cloud from the Avengers after being court martialed for being drunk on duty! (Avengers vol 3, #7)

Yeah. She quit homeland security after betraying the Avengers with Pym, and was pretty much a flop as Beetle's parole officer since he was committing crimes behind her back to fund his team.

I said Carol had a lot of jobs... never came close to implying she was actually GOOD at any of them.
