Well - I'm a huge X-Files fan - or at least I was.... Not any longer - not after this movie came out. Let's be honest - the reason the 2008 film did so badly is because it didn't appeal to the fans - and I have yet to talk to a fan who liked the movie. He's kidding himself if he thinks fans are liking this movie.

Everything that made the show cool was missing from the movie. It was just a movie about a couple of washed-up agents assisting in a murder mystery - nothing more. It was not the X-Files we all know and love. Might wanna consider a serious reboot with this one - otherwise its done.

I was gonna try the comic - but now that I know the guy who wrote the movie did the comic I'm not gonna even bother....

Thanks for ruining one of the best stories out there. Thanks for nothing......

Default CBR: Reflections: Frank Spotnitz on XFiles Movie/Comic

The movie was a near failure for this long time fan. For me the show was never a romance. To have Scully who was at best a sidekick become the lead in the movie was not a good decision. Those of us who watched for the adventure, the mystery,a good creepy scare and some witty dialog were disappointed. We got little for the long wait. Without the character of AD Skinner the movie would have been even more of a disaster.

I would expect at least a good story from seeing the cover of the comic, but rest assured I will page through it before buying. If I want romance I'll buy a romance novel.
