Anyway I have theory I wanted to shear with you: Negi magia erebea is a dark magic power up and its powered by negative emotions. So in other words the more rage he has the more power he gets from it right? But there is a risk that he may be overpowered by his own inner darkness if he use too much of it (that probably why Eva stopped using it when she became strong enough to get away without it).

Am I the only one who cant shake a feeling that this is a obvious case of Chekhov's Gun ?

I mean good writer don't introduce Dangerous Forbidden Technique and then completely ignores any drawbacks it comes with it. That just cheap.

But i was thinking what could be that give Negi enough negative emotions to brake him?

Answer is rather obvious: Fate has kidnapped Asuna. Now Negi dose not know it yet but he will know eventually and considering how much he loves her you can bet that he will not be simply pissed off he will practically go berserk on Fate sorry golem ass. And with magia erebea converting all the rage into power he will be smacking him up and down like a rag doll . But he will not have a chance to kill him because this is where his dark magic overpowers him and it gives Fate chance to escape.

So now we have Asuna free (Yay! ) Fate escaped like a sissy to lick his wounds (double Yay!! ) but Negi turned into bad boy (Oh Noes !! ) and doing something bad.

Then comes couple of chapters of him trying to rescue him. Negi kicking whole group asses around and eventually he is brought back to normal by Asuna using the usual "I Know You Are In There Somewhere" romantic plot device.

But after match is such that Negi has to seal magia erebea and find another way. Good news are that he have some time before Fate recovers and strikers again. And next 50 chapters are inaction comedy ones with Negi training in the background.


So does this theory makes any sense ? Is it plausible? What do you think??

Ok, that's one powerful pactio he's gotten there, and I'd say kind of cheap but I don't know if it's just me being biased about it. And he's kind of lucky that he got all those pactios before he got his own I'd say.
