A Thought About Twitter

I think it might be even dumber than facebook.

I thought myspace was goofy, but you really do end up talking to people, or at least saying hello. For the life of me, I barely understand what's going on in facebook. I don't get the value of a fake 'poke,' let alone a fake 'superpoke.'

It's nice to meet people, however briefly, and the messages are nice, almost like a brief email, but the rest is beyond me.

Now, Twitter. I thought I'd try it because some friends ask me, but I take so little delight in talking about myself that I can't see what I could be saying that ANYONE would give a shit about five times a day in spurts of twenty words each.

Prove me wrong, though!

My twitter name is Gailsimone. I'm only leaving this post up for a short while as an experiment. Otherwise people will have to find it on their own should they care enough to do so, a situation I cannot begin to imagine. :)

But maybe I'm wrong. We'll see!

I think I'm following Ed Brubaker, Warren Ellis, Matt Fraction, and Andy Diggle.

Ellis spends a lot of time complaining about how shitty he feels and how shitty the weather is.

So I'll follow you if you keep the complaints about the weather to a minimum.

I really enjoy Twitter. All those little comments from people, it's interesting.



One thing that keeps getting my attention is the "everyone" tab. Like it says, it's everyone on Twitter, and so because of the weight of Twitters they go through at such a rate. Because of that you will probably never see or hear from the people in the tab at that time again, and you just hear that one little piece of info from them. Oddly fascinating in a way :)

it's so scary to talk to anyone in person any more that the current generation has had to resort to such things as Facebook and Twitter. Where's our next generation of great speakers going to come from if everyone is texting in leet-speak?

Dammit Kyuubi, I've laid claim to post that comic in these forums whenever Twitter is mentioned twice already. Why must you take away that which gives me joy?


Anyhow, aside from laughing aloud at some of the things Warren Ellis has said over Twitter, I really don't get it.

What the hell is a Twitter? Half kidding, but I'm totally not into it. I just about got talked into Facebook. Still hate the design and look of MySpace, which is now owned by Fox anyway.

My favorite part about myspace is when my computer jams loading one page which might take 4 minutes to load. I think it need more ads and trojans on it.
