Thanks for clarifiying the "mainstream" thing.

Personally, I don't have a problem with reviews being a bit late, although I do understand the "have to know about it NOW" mentality that the internet begats. I do really dig trade paperback reviews though, especially for DC stuff, as the trades come out so much later that they're often "out of sight, out of mind."

Trade reviews are really appealing to me for their longevity. I mean, I could collect my reviews into a book, but who the hell wants to read random single issue reviews a year after they came out. But tpb reviews are always interesting I think.

I'd love to do more of that kind of thing. Maybe I'll make time for it whenever I can.

It would be cool to do 2-4 single issue mainstream reviews, 1 indy review, and 1 tpb review per week. That would be ideal. If I had the time, I would totally do that.

I would read every tpb review each week, unless it's a book I REALLY wasn't interested in, but single issues... I usually scroll past those on CBR/Newsarama/wherever constantly, as there just aren't that many reviews of Secret Invasion/Final Crisis tie-ins or "part 7 of 9"s that I'm that interested in reading about.

Maybe a good feature would be a "check out this new title!" thing at least once or twice a month, to help people get into books on the ground level. One of the biggest complaints I read is that there are great books that no one hears about until it's either too late to get into them via singles, or it's hit the point where the book's nearing cancellation.

Yeah, but my reviews are ALWAYS worth reading!

And I definitely try to review stuff that I think needs attention drawn to it. For example: Northlanders, Ghost Rider, Scalped, Incredible Hercules.

You can skip everybody else's reviews if you want, but mine are required reading!

That would be the problem for me right there; I get Vertigo in trades, so I wouldn't even bother with a single issue review that might spoil something for me.

More trades or at least storylines you know will be collected.

Good news: I have a graphic novel review coming up sometime this week.

Bad news: The graphic novel is horrible! Oh boy, is it bad. You'll see...

And I dove into it with the best intentions.

Sometimes it's good to get a bad review, it lets you know what to avoid, it lets you know what the reviewer's made of as well, in a sense.

Hopefully you put more thought into the review then "No, just no..." unlike some reviewers that shall remain nameless. It's nice to know why something is bad.

I like the idea of tpb reviews.

And it won't hurt to cover indie books. C'mon, these cbr cronies need to expand their horizons.

If I ever write "no, just no" or "meh" in my reviews, you have permission to call me a jackass.

I take too much pride in my work to ever give you douchebag comments like that. (Usually.)

I appreciate it. You're one of the good ones. Comic reviewing is in a sorry state right now. I'm hoping more people follow your lead.
