Default FAN EXPO: Marvel Eyes a “Marvels” Sequel- HELLO?

Is Marvel not aware that they already published a sequal almost immediately after the original?

    Are you talking about Ruins?

'Cause that was the opposite of a sequel.

I need to read it though...

    No link?

And yes they're aware of the quasi-sequel. Ruins is included in the upcoming trade.

However, there's nothing that prevents them from doing a real sequel.

I think ILLUS might be referring to "Code of Honor" rather than "Ruins." That wasn't really a Marvels sequel either, but it an attempt to cash in on Marvels' success.

These are comic books. They're all unnecessary.

They're entertainment, not a necessity. Who cares if they're doing this or twenty other things.

Interesting. The original Marvels ended with Phil packing it in, so it'll be interesting to see how his retirement is incorporated into the story.

Took them long enough to figure this one out. And now how about a Ruins sequel?

So does this mean Busiek is no longer Exclusive to DC?

I don't know if he is or isn't, but I think the script for this one has been done for a loooooong time. It's the art that's the rate limiting step, here.

Or at least, that's the impression I get. I could be wrong.

He is still exclusive to DC, he just had the scripts written and turned in prior to his exclusive.

God dammit, I was hoping his exclusivity was up. Marvel already managed to snatch Mark Waid back, now we need Morrison, Johns and Busiek!

I do love me the 80s, so this could turn out to be vastly cool. They better touch upon the Mutant Massacre.

Here's when this was announced: http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stori...arvelpanel.htm. That was when it was "early next year". Meaning early 2004. The people complaining about them doing this are a bit late.

I see it's back to six issues now, after being cut to four at one point...
