Thank god. I thought Wolverine was going into limbo for sure this time!
"What can change the nature of a man?"
A few quick points.
1. This mini series is obviously only being done because of the upcoming Wolverine movie. How else do you explain the focus on Gambit and Deadpool in the backup story's.
2. Once again, Marvel is crapping on and/or ignoring the REAL John Wraith. Wraith was a hell of a lot more important to Logan's past and the Weapon X program then either Gambit or Deadpool. Hell, Gambit wasn't even a part of the program. I said it before, and I'll say it again, the current regime at Marvel seems to have a problem with MOST (if not ALL) of their black mutants of African descent.
3. Nothing against Sumerak, but Marvel should have hired Larry Hama to write this mini series.

1. It's NOT "bull crap"
2. Where does it say anywhere that John Wraith WILL be involved in the mini series? I'm willing to bet that Wraith either won't be mentioned/appear at all in that mini series or IF he does appear in that mini series, his role will be very MINOR.
3. I NEVER said that "Marvel hates black people". However, I did say that the current regime "SEEMS TO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MOST (IF NOT ALL) OF THEIR BLACK MUTANTS OF AFRICAN DESCENT". And judging by the treatment and/or portrayal of MOST of the HEROIC black mutants of African descent in the X-books over the last 8 years, I seem to be right.
John Wraith is also going to appear in the movie, so its a safe bet he might in the series.....
John Wraith is not as popular as Deadpool or Gambit. Sorry, but that's the sole reason why he's not getting as much billing as the two of them.
Blame the apparently racist fans, not Marvel.![]()
There are a lot of white characters who are not as popular as Deadpool and Gambit, but they still get a lot of attention and billing in the various X-titles.
What SOME of you guys either intentionally or unintentionally fail to realize is that the X-office (both editors and writers) seem to put more effort in making unpopular/less popular white characters more interesting,cool,and/or more likable then they do their unpopular/less popular black characters of African descent.
Sorry, but I just don't see it. Not every character clicks with the fanbase and/or the writers (which can be just as important; remember when Joe Casey just had to have Chamber on his Uncanny team?). Examples:
New X-men - Prodigy did not, X-23 did.
Generation X - Synch did not, Chamber did.
X-Force - Bedlam did not, Warpath did.
Having said that, you've still got Storm and Monet who are both of African descent and are both pretty popular in the X-books. In the rest of the Marvel U you've got Black Panther, Falcon, Luke Cage, Misty Knight, and Blade to name a few. Luke Cage even leads the New Avengers, Marvel's #1 team book!
And even Bishop is going to be getting some spotlight soon in the King-Sized issue of Cable coming out next month, and the writer has hinted all along that once we see things from Bishop's perspective things will not seem so black and white (no pun intended).
